What are you plannign on towing? We have a XJ that easily tows a 2.5T trailer rig and trailer through the hills and on the flat. THey are rated to 3T but I reckon thats a stretch. The standard 4.0L does the job fine. why you'd want to put a 2H into an XJ is beyond me.

Hey Guys, Bloody great weekend of wheeling. The organisers put on easily the best event in the last few years down here in VIC. The combination of Mud Racing and Winch Challenge events being run at the same time worked really well. There was no downtime in abotu 4 hours of racing, always something ...

Re: Where to buy hub centric hilux rims ?
Normally steelies are a nut centric wheel, they are designed for load bearing off the nuts and don't need a hubcentric fit to carry the loads they are designed for. Really I wouldn't stress to much about it. I run Falcon steelies on my race jeep with weldon beadlocks and they are fine, we did bend ...

Re: What shifter??
Art Carr/Winters Shifter looks the goods and is used in offroad applications widely. Best thing about them is that you can smash reverse quick if you need to. unlike a b&m rachet style shifter you'll be smashing back through the gears while you're going head over heels trying to find reverse. Can ...

I run a 20 Valve 4age Toyota injected 1.6 in mine. lot of work to get it right, even alot of work to do a marginal install with compromises. goes really well though!

Re: winch motor repair
Hey pcman,
I know an engineer that specialises in DC Motor repairs. That should be an easy and pretty cheap fix i'm guessing. Maybe you could try using silver solder first? that should take a bit more heat.
otherwise PM me and I will pass on his details.

I can recommend EFS Elite shocks. We use these in our XJ Comp Car. They handle most things very well. I can't quite match that price you've linked on ebay, but if you are interested shoot me a PM with your location and I will send you back a quote.

Re: How to disassemble Tigerz11 winch motor
Hey Hulsty, Mate I think what you need to do is undo the tie rods and remove both the drum support plate and motor in one piece from the winch. On the inside of the drum support plate are some allen head bolts which will allow you to remove the drum support from the motor. This is the process for ...

I've spoken with a few of my customers about DPF's mainly in auto D40 navaras. A few aftermarket exhuast systems replace the DPF with a new dump pipe. As far as I know they don't get a check engine light because the two sensors will never sense any major differentiation so the vehicle ecu will never ...

haha, good luck doing a bodylift on an XJ. We've managed to get 34s under the XJ with some 50mm spacers, extended shackles and a fair bit of guard cutting and steering stop adjustment. Yep we had the same issue and it ended up being a faulty ignition coil lead to the distributor. Even if it looks ok it may be stuffed inside. We ended up changing everything, leads, dizzy, rotor and all is fine.

I quizzed RDA on this just the other day, Gold passivation slightly improves corrosion resistance and aesthetic qualities but does nothing to improve braking. Slotted rotors and an upgraded pad will help as will a master cylinder upgrade to a bigger bore.
