3y carby parts diagram - anyone got one?

G'day, I'm just putting a carby kit through my 3y. The kit came with the car and is missing the exploded view and one gasket. Was just wondering if anyone had one they could scan or email me. I've just discovered the little ball and not 100% sure where it came from. Just about to wing it and put ...

Re: Opinions on engine cranes?

I bit the bullet and went with a supercheap one, got it for $200 down from $360, 1250kg so pretty happy with that and has 12 months warranty. I'll put it through it's paces the net few weeks rebuilding a tractor, should be a good test.

Re: Opinions on engine cranes?

thanks y'all, pretty well sums up what I was thinking (hoping), that the cheap ones will do the job. I'm not used to buying cheap tools, but this thing will be the same as most others and only get used a couple of times a year max I reckon. I'd love to buy an old school HD one, but unfortunately ...

Opinions on engine cranes?

I'm about to fork out and buy an engine crane, but there is so many options and prices, I thought I might pick the brains of those that already have one. I guess it's like anything in that you get what you pay for, but not sure I want to spend $600 on a kincrome when one of the cheap n nasty ~$250 ...

Re: Fitting a turbo to a HJ60 Cruiser

I'd also buy a boost gauge if you haven't already mate. Your best bet would be to have it set up on a dyno when the time comes to tuning it, so it can be put under full load and then you can be confident wherever you take it(ie: soft sand, long pulls on h/way, towing etc) that the exhaust temp won't ...

I put a turbo on mine at 290K and didn't do a thing except set it up properly. Didnt change pistons, bearings or anything. And then abused it for years after that with no worries. That was 93 model HZJ75. My suggestion would be once rebuilt, fit a boost and pyro gauge, but also check your pump ...

catch can is the best idea. These do this whether turboed or not, mine did it with turbo, my mates did it without a turbo. Both in the same scenario, steep hill at high revs. Like others said the oil pools at the back of the rocker cover on steep uphill angles and the breather feeds it straight into ...

Comes standard with all Toyota's  It pissed my old man off that much he rang toyota about it and they told him it was because their cars seal so well, and the way to fix it is A/C on and heat, this dehumidifies the air.

i vote for turbo. I turboed mine at 300,000ks and it lasted the few years after that I had it without a drama. Only ran 9psi boost no intercooler and pyro running a 550deg C. And it got flogged up and down the soft sand, towed my ski boat blah blah... The price of a V8 conversion will soon run away ...

it was usually just the plug into the back of the alternator for me. Try pulling it out and spray a bit of electrical cleaner in the plug and the alternator and blow it out before going to the trouble of pulling your alt off and apart. Might save yourself a bit of work.

Where do people buy steel on the south side of Bris or Ipswich? I used to get what I needed from where I was working but now I fly in/out it's a bit tough to get a couple of metres on the plane. I don't want to have to buy lengths and lengths. I just want to have a go at building a front bar for my ...

Regulator?

I've got a bosch alternator fitted to my FJ45. The original regulator has been removed. I've been having dramas with the battery going flat. I bought a cheap multimeter today and found after I charged the battery with a charger it has around 12V with the engine off, but when I start it the voltage ...

The multi bolt pattern flange is actually on the diff, not the shaft. This means you can bolt any shaft (within reason) you want to it. I'll grab a pic in the morning to make things clearer. If you got put on the transfer and one on the diff you could bolt the 80 shaft straight in.

I agree it could be the fan, put two tubes of the silicon in it which should just about lock it up full time. No harm in this, did it on mine when I turboed it and never had a drama. As for a fan doing nothing at 100km/h, I see the logic that you would think it would hinder, but I've been in plenty ...

Best place to buy a used 2.8 Diesel?

Can anyone suggest good places to try in or around Bris. for a used 2.8 Diesel? Doesn't matter if it needs some work. Also do these have the same mounts as an '85 2.4 Diesel? I've just picked up an '85 Runner and am keen to bolt a 3L (?) in and turbo etc etc.

Cheers
