Re: gearbox issues, 95 5 spd

I've had the same thing a couple of times. First time I had it rebuilt. That lasted about 4 years before crapping itself again, so I sourced a replacement box and swapped it out. The replacement had a dud tranny case, so I swapped mine onto the new box and all has been good ever since.

Re: feroza belt pulley

First, a couple of questions: Do you have aircon/power steering? Is you power steering still working? Is it one of the pulleys that drive either of those? If it is, then yes it should be OK to drive, but if its on the drive belt that goes down to your alternator and the pulley on the bottom front of ...

They occasionally come up on Fleabay. I think there is a bit of hardware difference, IIRC. The hardtop is a bit of a PITA to remove and put back on if you're doing it regularly.

I'd be interested to see what you get for it. Mine will be for sale soon, once I do a bit of a clean up on her. Mine's a 96 widetrack with 31's, extractors and exhaust, lift, bullbar, etc. I'd be extremely happy if I got $4.5k. When I get around to it, I'll put an ad up again to sell off some of my ...

Re: Feroza engine cutting out

Welcome to Outers. Where are you located?

First a few questions:

Do you have aircon? Is it on when it cuts out?

Do you have power steering?

Any other relevant info? i.e. how is the idle/running normally? Rough, smooth, erratic?

Time to offload some Feroza gear.....

I know a few people are after roof racks and stuff. I've bought a new vehicle and it's time to offload a few Feroza bits & pieces.

Re: Amp Meter

Firstly, let's get something right: It sounds like your VOLTmeter. Amps are a measure of current. To check that your voltmeter isn't faulty, test your voltages with a multimeter (even a cheapy $10 Dick Smith one is adequate). At 18volts, you will probably find you're popping globes everywhere in the ...

Re: feroza squeaky rear springs

Could be a couple of things. First, try squirting a bit of Graphite powder between the springs. Ramp her up to get a bit of flex, which'll seperate the springs a little on one side at a time and aloow you to do this. If that doesn't work, try some motorcycle chain lube around your shackle bushes. Or ...

Re: feroza - Pod filter vs standard

I ran a pod for a while on my old motor for a while. I wasn't too concerned as I had to replace the motor anyway after the previous owner had driven it for 70,000km pinging off its head. The pod did make a noticeable difference, but I wouldn't do it on a motor I planned getting any longevity out of.

Even with mostly road driving, if you check your intake after the pod filter, you'll fine a layer of fine dust. Don't go there.....

Are you sure you have a Widetrack? The Narrow track shackles are wider at the top and narrower at the bottom as the leafs are narrower. Widetrack is definitely straight up and down. You will generally gain half the extra shackle length in lift: i.e. if you run 2" longer shackles, you should get ...

From memory, the globes are the little "grain of wheat" bulbs.

Again, from memory, the panel should unclip, I thnk you have to remove the heater knobs first though. I'm pretty sure there's a section on it in the workshop manual.
