Radiator caps - we have bought two different ones and it still overheats. We took it back to the garage who fitted the new radiator - they want $240 to reflush the block!! I'm thinking we should just get rid of it!! We had to buy another 4WD to go bush in.

Gauge gets to half ....... but the overflow bottle flips it's lid and water gushes everywhere. We get the full gurgle noise, steam, top radiator hose sucks in ......... then we sit and have a cuppa.

The Jeep guy who fitted the radiator supposedly has done this, but ...... perhaps we need to get it done by someone else to make sure.

We took the thermo out, still the same problem. The viscous fan is okay, the thermo fan is okay. Headgasket has been checked.

Might just sell it. Pity it's economical, drives nicely, does everything right, bar the overheating.

Overheating 95 XJ

Hi

Have a 95 XJ, put a new radiator and thermo in it, and it now boils as easy as pie. The block was flushed. Even with the thermo removed it still boils. What did I do wrong?

Hope someone out there as ideas.

Jeff
