depends on the year and body condition - read rust. i paid $4k for a 78 petrol/gas very neat with almost no rust, but got nailed on diff repairs. recently bought a 1983 LX petrol ( 5sp p/s discs ) for $3500 with some bad body rust.

i'm looking for some fibreglass panels for a 1983 fj40, particularly windscreen and front guards.
anybody know of a source in WA, preferably perth.

I've got a 1978 FJ40 good condition and want to get 5sp and power steering. i have an opportunity to buy an unlicensed 1983 shorty with the specs I want but has some serious rust problems. I'm not sure whether the rust can be fixed so that it will pass rego. how hard/expensive to fix rust in areas ...

just splashed out and got a 1978 FJ40 for a bit of weekend on-road and off-road. petrol/gas, reasonable condition, minor rust. plan is to go soft-top, disks on front plus power steering, with a nice paint job. any suggestions on sources in Perth for item such as soft top, roll bar and seats, plus ...
