Thanks for the advice. I would like to throw a winch in the bar eventually... I might just hack off the outrigger bar mounts for now then worry about that bridge when i get to it. I spose you can always put metal back cant ya!! The whole thing needs to be engineered at some stage, again, cross it ...

Thanks for that Steve,

Not much of a fabricator myself, so looks like they just get cut off and thrown out!

Does anyone fabricate for that, or do most just cut them off?

Cutting to fit 33's

G'day all, Got an '89 sierra, spoa fitted. Done a bit of searching... My new tires hit the bull bar mounts when they turn. I'm assuming i get the angle grinder out and cut the outer mounts off to allow for the bigger tires? It has a ARB bar on it to, then same thing with the brackets on that? Stupid ...

i wouldn't buy the 4x4, but the 2x4 as a street ute with a big set of wheels on it would look awesome. i know it would be a ricer, but almost everything is going in that direction now days.

pity the "true" wheeler isnt at the top of te design chain!

In terms of gearbox's, diffs etc. I hear all good things about patrol running gear, and my boss is looking at a maverick this weekend. Then a LS1 chev is going in it. So is the mav ...

1.6l carby on 1.3l engine? is it a bolt up?

g'day folks, My mate is currentlt getting his 1.3l sierra engine rebuilt. I heard about putting a 1.6l vitara carby on it would be a good option for torque increase, while leaving the standard exhaust manifold, but opening up the rest of the exhaust. the other option of course is to use the standard ...

What year did IFS arrive on hilux's?

I am getting way to many different answers on this question from people, does anyone know when: The xtra cab lux went to IFS? The Dual cab went to IFS? was it different depending on models? diesel/petrol or sr5 etc.? A mate of mine is looking for one, but he wants a live front axel. Preferably a ...

G'day people, my diff has just given up on me the other day. I have a '98 V6 estate wagon, 2.0l 5spd. This is the squareish looking one. G'day all, Just recently the 'old girl' (mum) has been commenting on the amount of time she spends at the servo. Don't get me wrong, we're not bitching about the running costs of the cruiser, but just curious if this is the same for everyone? We have a 100series petrol. (biggest mistake, we regret ...

Unfortunately the V6 and 4cyl have different chassis so the bars are incompatible. its a pain in the arse but the 4cyl one is cheaper anyway, so i guess thats good for you.
