Precision turbo's on td42's
Im looking at fitting a precision turbo possibly the 5130 to my silver top td. Precision claim they are more efficient than a bb garrett. Was originally looking at fitting the garrett gtx3067. I am going to a 12mm pump and want to run 18-20psi. Has anyone run a similar setup or can offer some advise?

Re: Alternator which produces high output at idle
Did you have to remove/bypass the alternater's internal regulator or does your 60 run an external regulator. I can't understand how something which replaces a fuse can increase voltage output of an alternator. Is it a capacitor or something similar.

Re: Alternator which produces high output at idle
I was under the impression max voltage should be higher. The auto elec said 13.8 v was normal. Has anyone fitted a 120amp alternator which produces more than 13.8 volt maxium. If so what brand and what supplier Thanks

Re: Alternator which produces high output at idle
Voltage at my crank battery at idle with fans on was between 12.8 and 13.1 from memory and vsr is open circuit. Maxium voltage at start batery is 13.8 at high RPM. VSR requires 13.2v to close and at 12.8 it will open circuit again. When VSR is closed (charging aux battery) voltage will drop below 12 ...

Alternator which produces high output at idle
G'day, I have had issues keeping charge up to my batteries at low RPM. MY patrol is fitted with a carby chev and runs ford falcon electric fans. I fitted a new 120 amp alternator( apparently a bosch copy think its an OEX) which has now shit its self after only 12months approx 20,000kms. Has dual ...

Re: 79 series rear leaf springs into 75 series
Thanks for the suggestion.
I was wondering if anyone can explain why the load carrying capacity of the spring would be reduced by resetting the springs so that they have increased camber / hook. I would have thought that the type and grade of steel which is used to make up each leaf would influence ...

Re: 79 series rear leaf springs into 75 series
Yes I have considered this as a potential option but as mentioned in the inital thread I really want to avoid relocating the spring hanger mounts as I do not have skills, equipment or ability to undertake such a task and I also do not want to making permanent mods to the chassis which might have to ...

Re: 79 series rear leaf springs into 75 series
Thanks for the info. One of my next steps was to go and get 4 bits of flat plate approx 3-4mm thick, 75mm wide and 300mm long and start drilling some holes in it say every 50mm as a trail and error exercise to see if I can use this as a shackle template. If it is discovered that I need the pins ...

79 series rear leaf springs into 75 series
G'day not sure if this question has been asked before but I was wondering if anyone has attempted to fit a set of 79 series ute rear leaf springs into the back of a 75 series ute.
I am currently in the process of attempting this but am starting to wonder if I may be wasting my time.
Stats on 79 ...

78 / 79 series rear leaf springs in 75 series ute
G'Day
Just wondering if anyone knows what might be involved with fitting longer 78 / 79 series rear springs into the back of a 75 series ute. I have done a little looking into the idea and believe the later model springs are 172mm longer than 75 series items. Both 79 and 75 leaf widths are 70mm. I ...
