God winch
Guys, I like to venture a guess that the engine is the old favourite SR20. During the recent Johor Challenge 2007 they have kinda equalised the field in that rigs equipped with ''God winches'' must use ground anchors and not trees. I guess you guys can see the point. There was quite a bad accident ...

Trailjimny, Got my Jimny fitted out with a reground cam from US and a reworked head ( DIY) Seat of the pants feel on the road is that it pulls more willingly all the way to the redline at 6500rpm. Mine is an auto and now kickdowns are quiker and the power comes on more quickly. Machined my own ...

part number for service manual
The part number for FSM for the SOHC Jimny is 99500-81A00-01E.
Yep it's really comprehensive ,plus I have the parts catalog which is just as useful .
You'll need a seperate manual for wiring and another for the A/C

Jimny ECU upgrade
Greetings from Singapore.
Has anyone any info on whether the ECU on the Jimny yr. of mfg. 2000 can be ''upgraded''?
There are views that ECU upgrades doesn't give much power increases unless there are radical mods like super-charging or turbo..?
thanks

Helpful as a bridging aid and to provide initial traction when climbing out of ''gullies''...
We use them quite often in the Rainforest of Malaysia.
After a few passes in heavy mud they can be a bitch to extract.

Empty Spare rim
greg, I'm running with Generals 30x9.50-15 and consider them too heavy for my rear door. Had a sidewall puncture on a badly rutted downhill slope once .........with the spare on the door it was quite a hassle keeping the door open to get to my CO² bottle and safety seal kit. So now my spare sits on ...
