New GU UTE

Hey fellas I just picked my new gu 4.2 td ute up and I am not sure if I need to run it in.Nissan never mentioned anything.Any ideas.
I spoke to some that say drive it normal ,some say dont be shy with the right pedal.But my instincs are run it in like other engines I have never owned a diesel before ...

Thanks for all the replies fellas.I am getting the ute and have decided to go a red one I think it will look good with all black accessories and some claws on it.it is a work ute for now .

GU after market exhaust

Hello fellas ,I have heard a few gu turbo diesels getting around with a big exhaust on and you can really hear the turbo spool up,they sound like bloody trucks.Does any know if this is just exhaust and if so what size .Or is it turbo upgrade?Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Fellas ,Just about to order a new gq patrol ute 4.2 TD and want to know what you recon is the best colour.
It will have a steel bar and winch.By the way any one know what winch they use?
It will also have a colour coded steel tray and snorkel.I opted for a red one any one disagree???

Hey guys I have a 2' body lift and didnt have to bend or cut anything.Only problem I have is when hubs locked in it the transfr lever likes to jump into 4high because of slight tension from the rubber boot.I can send pics if they help-marty

I would rebuild motor first unless it has low k's but still I would rebuild it.
Dont forget being a petrol you have to decompress the head.Also I would be concerned about the torque range as I had a vl turbo and it had lag till about 3000rpm.Which means once you decompress the head you will find it ...

thanks for the welcome fellas and yes warren is right its a petrol.Apart from the expense with fuel I cant find any reason to buy a diesel.I have had it in real deep water and it seems to like it.I like the power it has to tow a 6m boat up the beach too.Anyway thanks again marty

Gday Mate.I have a petrol 4.2 gq and I got right price on moss st to fit extractors and 2 1/2 exhaust and I think I paid in the 500s for it.Dont know where you are but if your in brissy give them a bell.
I havnt looked back ,sounds better and goes better too.
No need for mandrel bends either ...
