Good thinking B-Stu, I like the flipping of the bolts. I haven't had a chance to pull the lining out yet - where the bolts go through, is there some sort of strengthening bar/rib that runs down the length of the roof (underneath)? Just what do the bolts bolt?? Or is it just the same as the rest of ...

The link of Kevins with photos, aaarrghh! sorry, but i lookedandlooked, and still couldn't decipher the images...bloody phone cameras with wide ...

Thanks BRC, one of main reasons for the larger tyres (as well as clearance) was to drop the revs a bit. Tourque seems plentiful from around 2000rpm up, but cruise speed sees me doing around 3000-3200 @ 110 kph ~ (on standard rims/tyres, 255/70x15 i think, which is around 29"~)... so if i could lose ...

Howtofit roof racks to Rocky?
Hi all. Firstly, thanks again murcod, the Rocky you linked me through to turned out to be a beauty - 80k, well looked after, no leaks etc. '99 model 4 11grand! :D Interesting car to drive. I've had a couple of hiluxs, an 80 'cruiser and a 100 series that was modded - chopped rear off, made an extra ...

I did see it - yesterday... Went to have a look, it was in good to v/good condition overall, but when i started talking money with them, they weren't interested in the slightest bit of negotiation. hmphh me - no rocky on the market is anywhere near this price, most are around the $10k mark, even ...

New Rocky with Oil leak from Turbo??
Looking at a few Rockys to buy (only 1!), And the most promising one seems to be ok, bar the owner saying there is a slight oil leak from the turbo, which "might need to be looked at in the next 12 months"... Not sounding so good  Airfare to Qld, find it's a bomb.... Anyone have any ...

Turbo oil leak??
Ok, have found a few Rockys, one especially seems promising, in Qld!!, but apparently has a slight oil leak "from the turbo" which "doesn't affect the performance/motor, but might need to be looked at in the next 12 months".... Hmmm. Anyone had issues with turbos and oil leaks? Thanks Just ...

okokokok....
It looks like the Rocky is going to be the one - seems that most people are happy with it/is reliable, reasonably priced etc And for the price it looks like a good car to keep for a few years - so long as i dont catch the bug that most owners seem to have (big lift job, bigger donk, new solid axles ...

Thanks for the feedback guys. Seems to be a rough consensus on the Rocky... Most Rocky's have got around 200,000 k's on them, is this still a reasonable time to buy them, or will i be in for an engine overhaul at these sort of k's? Ditto for the turbo? I find it hard to imagine a turbo going this ...

Strong desert tourer-Daihatsu vs Suzuki
Hi all. New to this forum, but it seems to be the best place to get ideas/answers... I'm planning on travelling for around a year through outback Australia, leaving early/mid 2006. Have done this many times before, originally in other 4wd's (hilux's and landcruisers) but more recently on off-road ...
