Thanks, I was going to weld across the front and bolt the bar to the angle and perhaps put fillet welds across as well. Hmmmm. I have to ask the question, why would 4 bolts be better than a weld, it's not a winch bar, when I actually get this thing back out into the bush I always go in company. It's ...

Bar help needed from fabricators.
Question for the fabricators out there, what thickness angle would you recommend I weld across the front of the fore aft chassis rails to attach a tube bar to. I've not seen a zook done this way yet but I'm sure some one has. I don't want to weld the tube straight to the chassis or try to fab a nice ...

I'll say keep your eyes out for a modded one, dodgy buildups are everywhere but you might come across something with a fair bit of gear for not too much cash. Everything everyone else said is still spot on, keep your eyes out even if you just get a 2" lift and decent rubber or maybe gearing, who ...

Money, money, money. I wish I had, 35s and 6.4s and 5.12 diffs with Coilover and 1.6 efi with a blower attached. :D :D :D :D What I got is what I can have and had the $ for at the time. The diff ratio for those that are thinking of doing it on the cheap works well. I've got a lift lockers and diff ...

Vitara 4.625 Centres
I thought I'd post up the results of getting this done. Vitara 4.625 Crown/Ring & Pinion into 88.5 WT Diffs as it was difficult to find anything really concrete when I searched, there was info of course and it was all good but not all in one spot. Check the Bible it will give you what will fit, also ...

the best tip i can add is make sure you use genuine suzuki inner axle oil seals they are like $5 each always available and they do not leak, i have had a couple of sets of non genuine ones leak and when you compare them the inner lip is about twice the depth on genuine ones, Very Happy Doh, now I ...

2.4 carbie to 2.7
I have searched but no luck. Car is a 94' Hilux 5 Speed, does the 2.7 fit straight in where the 2.4 Carby came out or do I need to mess with engine mounts and gearbox etc. Changing over from the Zook to the newish family car. I also had someone suggest just bolting on fuel injection out of a Hiace ...

Get them from the states. Trail Tough have excellent service or Calmini, I have not bought anything from Calmini but the replies to my queries have always been fast and polite. Don't forget to ask about the freight price and make sure it is marked Made In The USA to avoid GST. My stuff was on my ...

I’ve gotta stick with the simple things, I’m no expert. If the spark breaks down under load or is just not hot enough then the fuel etc will not burn at all or incompletely leaving oil/fuel residue on the plug only making matters worse. Every time you clean it, it runs better but then fouls up again ...

My guess is stem seals. These are a bit notorious as a cause of fouling/smoke. Yes very likely, although cheaper and easier just to do the simple things. Electricity is a very strange beast, it may be fine but then under load beging to break down anywhere from the distributor cap to the plug. I am ...

Thanx all. Still having dramas. It turns out that someone from NBS sold Dreamz a 1litre transfer case not a 1.3. New Jack Shaft from Suzi Sport today only to find that the flange was just too different to fit. Phone call to Mark's boys at Suzi Worx and a drive from Slacks to Maroochydore to get a ...

If you want to know just how popular the Zooks are look at the number of posts in each tech section for each Make. I have an 88 leaf sprung zook with only 2" lift and lockers on very ordinary tyres and it amazes me where it will go and I really love to stick it to the Patrol drivers when they are ...

Transfer Case Help
Hope someone can enlighten us. Dreamz bought a T/Case out of a 92' Leaf Zook and he has a 98'? Coilly. It doesn't look like it is going to fit to me. The drive shaft out of the gear box on the coilly is about 80mm longer than my shaft on an 88' WT 1.3 with the(apparently) same T/Case that he has ...
