Naa, as soon as it reaches what would be the catching point when releasing the clutch (in neutral) it starts to make the noise and doesn't stop until you press the clutch back past the same point.. It doesn't stay after the clutch has been depressed fully again..

Just thinking about it, would it have been possible to have dropped something in the gearbox while trying to fix the first problem? I've heard other people having file shavings in the box making a noise in the end..

Could this be the problem? or not?

no its not loud, you have to be inside the car to hear it, its pretty distinct though. It only happens when the clutch is released, not when its depressed.

We replaced the throw-out bearing with the clutch, so i don't think its that...

Odd Gearbox Noise?

Ok guys, well the new clutch is in and seems to be ok, but we have a new problem.. At first it seemed (after replacing the clutch/bearing/everything else) that it was stuck in 3rd gear. But after doing a search and reading other peoples similar problems we fixed that all well, goes into gear fine ...

Thanks for your help guys :) We're trudging along quite nicely and have finally made it to the clutch! Haven't removed it yet because many of our tools have broken in this expedition and its proving quite challenging to remove some bolts without the proper/easiest tool.

Hey fellas! Long time lurker, not a big poster, but anyways love this site :) So onto my question.. We have a 95 stock sierra, we wanted a stock so we could learn about cars in general and eventually start some simple mods. So our first challenge is replacing the release bearing (clutch squeal when ...

Hot air hose?

Ok, we have a 95' suzuki sierra, shes a beaut! But somehow this hose (the big white long hose on top of the engine) has been split, by what looks like the radiator bracket. Here's a pic of the hose in the engine http://tbbw.customer.netspace.net.au/car%20001.jpg So we were looking around for a ...

Thanks guys :) Yea i was just thinking about towing if i were having more than 2 people in the car, once you add extra people there is not any extra room to breathe let alone camping gear :) I'm not quite sure what you mean by "less than an inch of play" with the clutch, it seemed to change gears ...
