A few members on the surf site who have done this mod have body lifts installed. Usually gives more clearence in order to fit the intercooler on top of the engine. I wouldn't mind doing it but will probably wait til next summer, might go the body lift and then start looking

From what I know the manifold, turbo and exhaust from a 2.4 surf will bolt straight on. Perhaps this is a way around modifying manifolds and the like

On most hiluxs/4runners/surfs there is a dead spot on the temperature gauge. The temp gauge will creep up to half way and no further attention is paid to it. Just a question on Biodiesel. Anyone know where to get ethanol/Methanol? Turns out it's a little more difficult that I thought. Everything else for the Biodiesel production is easily obtained except for the above mentioned.

it should be pushing 7-8psi or near abouts. You should be getting plenty of induction noise from the turbo itself and under load you should be hearing the turbo spool up, especially when boost creeps up around 4 psi +.

Fitted the 110A alternator from a 1HZ. Everything fits fine except for the tensioner bracket, this applies to 1kzt motors but would probably also be the same for other toyota 4 cyl diesels. The tensioner bracket has to be modified in order to get enough swing on the alternator to get proper tension ...

I use a 2 core alloy rad fabbed up by Aussie desert cooler.

Could also be an electrical problem. The A.D.D is activated via solenoids and unless the A.D.D is engaged the light on the dash will not come on. These have been known to fail. I'd check wiring and connections, could be mud in the connections or corrosion inhibiting the circuit. Next on the list ...
