Use the gear puller, the supercheap pitman arm pullers are rubbish, i broke one, tighten the puller up reasonably tight and give the arm a few taps with the hammer. note, don't sit under the arm as you are tapping it, mine flew off and missed the jewels by an uncomfortably close margin :oops:
