Howdy,

My father inlaw has just handed me a 95 Cherokee to do something with, or sell for him. Got about 213K on the clock, auto, leather etc. Seems to go ok.

One thing I don't like is that the steeling wheel seems to wobble, like it's loose. And I don't mean just the wheel itself, it seems to ...

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have every event start with a State and a Date? For example...

A Page full of events and very little to describe when and were they are. Very frustrating to the point I don't bother reading most of them.

How close to winton? How big is the property? What are you planning to build? What do we need to be able to do? who owns it? Will it be rentable for club events? Is it bush tracks, mud racing, rock / obsticle climbing - or a combination of? Plans done? Planning permits needed ...

Yeah ive decided to keep the SD33, not worth the hassle.. decided the only reason i was considering it was to get rid of the 24 volt electrical system! But ill just have to live with the 24v till i get a 12v turbo diesel donor car..

Go and check out www.patrol4x4.com in the GU section (is down for me at the moment) and find the post where someone has just replaced the RD28 engine in a GU with an RB25 and done some work to it. Nice conversion.

I guess you can drop the running gear out of a RB30 GQ wagon into a SWB, but ...

sooooo.... if a 500kw RB30 only had that much power high in the rev range, how much would it have at say 1500 - 2000? It would surly be more than a stock tb42 or td42 would at the same revs, would it not? If so then why the hell would that not be usable?

But it you are going to turbo something ...

I read in the bible about putting commodore 80 amp guts in an L28 alternator. Anyone done this? What model alternators do I look for?

The resistor is there to drop the volts at the coil, as the coil is designed to work at a certain voltage ( eg 9 volts). If you remove the resistor from a coil that needs it then it will get too much voltage and burn out.

I've also wondered about geting the non resistor coil too (GT40 I think) but ...

Are you using a resistor with the coil?

I need a new alternator, something with some good amps.

I already have an internally regulated one from a bluebird which I think is 60 amps, but I'd like something bigger, like 80 or so.

Does anyone know of such a higer amp beasty that will just bolt in? Thanks.

I went from a set of STE (now HT) 31x10.5R15s on the MK to a set of 32x11.5R15 LT. Much better off road, but a lot more weight in them and they over power my shocks (but shocks a little sus anyway).

The STEs made the MK handle like a sports car, and corner speed was impressive, but the LTs are so ...

Hmm. might need a bit of work to get it to fit, depending on where the back tubes end up... the wheel arches are different shapes on each side.

You really only have two options... Look yourself for damaged sections that may cause wires to short, or take it to an auto elec!

the inside of the top of body section at the back is damn close to 144 cm. Up the top of the inside of the canopy is less than that.

As for the height, is the 97cm from the floor just behind the front seats or from the floor right at the back ? Got Ebay linkage?
