Disco 2 - CDL

I have been reading some of the olders posts and and seems some ser 2 discos around 2000 to 2002 did not have a centre diff lock. Are they still a full 4x4 ie via a viscous centre diff? Going to test drive an '02 model tomorrow... It has the dual head/driving lights rather than the rectgangular ...

Re: LPG issues? Please help!

Not sure if this helps but I have similar issues. I usually pull horse floats between 2 and 3 ton. I never tow on gas because it is seriously down on power and keeps running the auto in 2nd gear on any type of hill. When I am NOT towing it seems pretty good on gas except for slightly down on the top ...

Re: Disco 2 Turning Circle

Thanks Slunnie will keep it mind.

I also notice the disco 2 has a different stud pattern to previous landies but I am sure someone make steel rims for them.

Disco 2 Turning Circle

Curently driving a petrol 100 series cruiser. Am looking to reduce the planets reliance on fossil fuels by changing to a turbo diesel disco 2. I took one for a test drive on the weekend but was very surprised about the turning circle. I nearly didn't make it around at the end of a culdesac where the ...

Thanks for the replies. Agreed there are better motor options available but doubt they can be done for the same price or quite as simple. THe chevy is mechanically injected so only need one wire and that is to stop it. THis means limited chopping of wiring loom. I am the first to admit the chev is ...

Chev Diesel into 100 Series

Looking for a transplant to my 100 series petrol auto. It's a great vehicle but is used mainly for towing and the fuel economy is horrendous. I can't afford a Turbo Diesel 100 series so am thinking will swap out the 4.5 petty for a 6.2 diesel. Has anyone got experience with the chev bolted upto the ...

100 Series - Centre Diff

Just bought a 100 series (6 cyl, petrol, auto) and want to use low range without locking the centre centre. Has anywone sussed this out :?:

Am hoping to be able to interupt signal to TC when putting into low range but then have the option of engageing 4WD by the existing dash switch.

Cheers

I just did this swap recently. I put a DMLR8 Elec dizzy from a disco into a 3.5L 82ish rangie motor. Works an absolute treat. I had the same probs as you. The original scenario was a rigid drive on dizzy with male receiver in drive gear. Obviously inferring a female receiver in the oil pump shaft ...
