I've got an auto and it's really good in everything except steep descents. Although, 'driving through the brakes' helps a lot with descents. With this I lock mine in 1st and if it starts go speed up i hit the accelerator to lock the converter up so it slow's down and doesn't try to get away on me ...

I've got an auto and it's really good in everything except steep descents. Although, 'driving through the brakes' helps a lot with descents. Otherwise, I whack it into D, shift into 4Lo and it's good steep inclines, technical rocks, bogholes and straights up to 60km/h. For technical stuff like rocks ...

Had the same problem with my XJ. Turned out that the battery connectors and terminals were dirty. Therefore, at times the altenator was pumping juice but there was no connection to the battery so the gauge would shoot up to 19. Lucky there is a safety in the altenator that limits the voltage to 19V ...

Hey, I've got one of these too. Wondering if anyone recons it's worth spraying the air filter with the K&N stuff? i guess it depends on where u are mounting it and how much dust/dirt it will encounter. mine is behind the passenger seat on the floor in a single cab ute so i highly doubt it will get ...

Endless air for XJ
Thought I'd ask if anyone has hooked an aircon compressor up to their belts for airing up etc. Not too much room under the bonnet of the XJ. As far as I can see, the only way would be to remove the stock airbox to free up some room. Then put aircon compressor over the bottom radiator hose and put a ...

Sudso, what do you mean by cavitating the coolant? Is that not flowing in the one direction? Longlux, I've 'heard' of a few failure stories with the EWP's of a few years ago. Do you know what series you had as I believe their latest one is the 3rd generation. Would like to think they've sorted out ...

Electric Water Pump
Hey, though I'd ask if anyone has the Davis Craig EWP on their 4bie? I sent them an email asking if it'll be ok during a water crossing and they replied that it can run for an hour underwater! They also said it'll be a good idea to have an overide switch to turn it off during water crossings. Anyway ...
