Re: 1986 rocky 3yc engine transplant

Mine cost about $2400 which included buying a commodore. And since ...

Re: LOW TRANNY GEARS ROCKY

F20 gears wont fit into a f75 transfer. They are smaller and not as strong.
When i blew my transfer i was going to use the parts out of a f20 box i had but they were not even close.

They only coat the top of the piston. There is a coating you can do the skirts in but not sure the thickness of it.

Re: sand blasting at home

I fix sandblast gear for a livin. Most backyard guys general have a timber frame set up with containment sheeting nailed to it on a concrete floor if you want to resuse the media. Good idea to have an air feed helmet or a good resperator.
Is the motor still together or just doing the cases.

It doesnt have anything to do with the hubs.
Sounds like they put a PUSH BUTTON/VACUM select 4wd transfer

Does yours have 4WD button on the dash or do you select 4x4 on the the transfer lever.

The easiest way would be to get a front diff out of an early model diesel and weld on all the spring perches and arm mounts.

It would be a big job but all the steering/brakes/ratios would be the same
not sure about the width.
