The KA 24 motor is a good thing, but stay a way form the pintaras, when i used to work at Nissan the autos would always have problems. Only on the 2.4 not the 2.0l. From memory it was the "T" "Ti" and "TRX" that had the 2.4. The exexutive and GLi had the 2.0L (CA20) used from the series 3 Bluebird ...

If I were buying again... I'd buy a GU ZD30, like what I got, but I'd buy it blown... Pick one up for around $8k, sometimes even with some mods. Then I'd send it away for a 6.5L Chev, like what I got! That adds around $21k if they do all of the work.

Appranently the gears have a hard covering, but over time it wears thing and then there is no strength left in the gear and it goes bang.
The new BT50's have a different box that suppose to be stronger

If it is a 3.0L T/D, That is normal, the vacumm assist cant cope with a few pushes of the clutch. If you push the clutch in and out but dont let it go all the way out, you should be able to push it heaps of times and it will be easy...

the 3.0l is good, there is a lot of bagging of it, yes the early ones had dramas, but shit happens, get over it.
Keep them serviced correctly and they are fine, stay with a series 3 however...
