Re: Replacing head on GQ and Pertronix Q's

which side is the right side? i think i have it on the side with the most amount of wires going to it.

no bottom end is fine. at one point i did have it running like a top with the pertronix and pertronix flame thrower 3ohm coil. then it suddenly started idling really high and dieseling at shut off.

Re: crisis...GQ patrol or F150

i like the slower rock crawling stuff, but i prefer the dunes and beach and where i live right now there aint an abundance of rocks to climb, more dunes and beach tracks. but i wouldnt mind being able to still do rockcrawling, which is why im still thinking of the gq...try and get best of both ...

yeh, after putting it up on the hoist and doing some measurements and that, its not really worth it to do it while trying to keep the rear cargo space standard. would only be able to install a 8" travel coilover in the rear.

got my eyes on a old patrol ute for free which would be a perfect ...

round here its not much 4wd tracks, more whooped out sand tracks/fire trails that are a blast to hit at speed. the ironman suspension i got now is only capable of handling medium hits at like 40km.h. so i want a setup that will soak up hits at speed and yet still be a competent 4wd setup.

i also ...

but, just had a look under the rear of it and it dont look too promising. theres not alot of space under there before i have to start cutting into my floor.
the front will be fine, plenty of room up into the engine bay.

ok, so to recap and get all the info in one post.

35's will fit with a 3 inch lift if the sill cap is removed and rear bumpstops are dropped. longer shocks will gain back articualtion after bump stop drop.

i was actually looking at the camburg upper arm kit, but since its for the 98-04 tacoma which is different to our hilux, i dont think they make one for me.

the total chaos would be nice but i really dont want to run such a wide and illegal setup.

hmm, and i dont want torsion bars either. i really ...

05-07 hilux to 05-07 US tacoma

does anyone know if the hilux and american tacoma are the same truck?

my only clue to them having the same suspension is that OME offer a lift kit for the US model, but im unsure if they are same part numbers as a australian kit.
