Well I would like to put out a big thanks to Dereck and Damien for helping me out on their way home from the Navrun. These lads helped me patch a hole in the question mark shaped hose on the GQ at yaraglen united. The tyre plugged worked a treat and got me home. Cheers lads!!!

Just went through all the previously mentioned stuff without any joy. So went to see the guys a ARB Bendigo pricing up F & R lockers, told him what I had done. After quoting me for the lockers suggested that I try Holdens friction additive. So after $30 for the small container of goop went in ...

I'm running lovells 2" all round and I like em, campared to leafs though anything coil would have a softer ride. They work well for the average offroading that I do. Sorry I don't have an opinion on the shocks it still has the munros on it ATM, more fun tickets = new shocks.

What have you done to check it out first? ANything?

Changed thermostat? rad hoses? rad cap? cleaned radiator? had it reverse flushed? checked for internal blockages? temp gauge sender? had system pressure flushed?

Falcon fans shit themselves in dirt/mud/water unless your lucky.

Thanks champ, I'll pull the radiator and give it a good clean. Might invest in an aftermarket temp gauge too.

What do you reckon about pitching the stock engine fan and fitting up the twin fan setup from an EL or AU? Hopefully that might sort it, if not its down to the rad shop.

Still workin out ...

93 4.2 Petrol, heating up when off road.

When off road the ol girl gets a bit on the warm side, up towards the 3/4 mark, particularly when climbing, out moving around without being under load, no probs.

A couple of questions,
1. is this common?
2. Is there a fix/es?
3. Is it expesive to fix?

Need to know before gas goes on.

Thanks,
Richo

Raising the engine and gearbox will increase the centre of gravit, and therefore affect the body roll. 2" body lift with the 3" springs should be fine for 35s.

My suggestion is to get together with some of the guys that are heading out into Glasshouse and/or the similar areas, let them know that you are not real confident and take it easy. The more to do, the more confident you will become. Like one of the other guys has already said, start out simple and ...

Well that throws the "the mongrels are the cheaper option" out the friggen window, I'd go with the M-117s after checking the picks on their sites the M-117s look a little more open and have better bead protection. Supose the only way to really know is put them side by side on the same truck and mud ...

It will really depend on what you are going to do with the truck???

A cheaper option for the pedes is to go with the motorway mongrel, they are a remold, and I've not heard of any major dramas.
