Re: 80 series problems
I had a dodgy earth from the trans to the body. In combination with some other suspect but not totally shite earths (resprayed body etc) it cause the accel cable to earth the motor, letting about a bit of a smoke they put in there...! Cracked earth strap somewhere that doesn't appear to be bad on ...

+ve air pressure winch
Searched, didn't find too much. Sorting out a lowmount warn, and thinking about running some air into it. Got an airline at the front bar already, and was thinking about tee-ing off it and running to a regulator to drop back to 2-3psi and leak that into the winch... From the search I noticed ...

custom seat rails - SAAS into 80 series?
I've got a pair of SAAS dominator seats that I want to use in my 80 rebuild. And I want to pass an engineering inspection, as well as be safe. In the past I've had them mounted to landcruiser rails, but there is some manipulation required that doesn't make them potentially up to spec. So I want to ...

No painting floors, nothing like that. I;ve got dynamat for the inside floor and panels, just chasing the extra 1% whilst ...

product for wheel arch and trans tunnel sound dead'n?
Got the truck in bits and want to quiet it down a bit for those long days touring. Need a product (perferrably sold online) to paint onto underside trans tunnel, and wheel arches. Will need to be durable for stone chips, but more importantly work to reduce noise. Done a search, but haven't found ...

water tank hose and ideas
Got a ghetto setup for a water tank, but the way I've got it arranged is starting to fail... I've got some crappy plastic hose with a bunch of elbows to keep the hose nice and tight in to the tank, but on the outlet side of the pump, we use the hose as sort of an extension cord I guess, and the ...

Re: cut off saw?
And you will be chosing which brand to satify that criteria, or are you going water/fluid cooled superdooper thingo?
I guess the real question is - who makes the best clamping mechanism on the generic saws, the rigid looks to be bit on the pricey side for a glorified angle grinder (700ish).
Cheers,

Re: Wiring rear spotlights with reverse gear selected.
So I did it a different way. I've got a simple 2 way toggle mounted under the reverse lights on the spare, and that turns the lights on and off. I also have a relay in the rear quarter that gets a trigger feed from the reverse lights to fire it up, and thats what runs the lights when reverse is ...

Re: 60L of dead fuel - where to dispose of it...?
its going to take years to get through 60l of fuel in a mower!!
I don't have a yard or corner big enough to get rid of 60ml of fuel far less 60litres, so 'dumping' is out...
I guess I'll see what the council have to say, although it was a local council run tip that I tried to get rid of it at..

Re: LED Interior Lights Install - Write up with pics
I quite like my halogens - much higher draw but I"ve got LED's that suffice for most of the time in the truck, and the downlights are really only for working on the tailgate, seeing in the fridge etc. Wired second batt as you'd expect, but they were donated and suit the task admirably :) http://i268 ...
