Re: Bump pad on Radius Arm

Tough nuts idea sounds like a good one if I do say so my self ,have you thought of mounting the bump up side down on the inside of the radius arm with a pad on the out side of the chassis it would look wrong but work the same and when you roll it it will look like you put the cab on up side down ...

Re: Bump pad on Radius Arm

Can you box the top of the radius arm mounts and bounce the bumps of them then the cans can be mounted behind the coil over and on the out side of the rail.I have been thinking of putting my bumps on top of my sway bars and running 1 1/2 sway bar links with 7/8 heims that way I don't need I large ...

Re: Recommend a transmission for BBC in a truck

Use a GQ /GU 5speed and leave the t case on it so you have low range for getting in and out of those tight spots adaptors are cheep and you can get a GQ box for next to free and they are as tuff as any thing else that would be my option.

Re: Rancho Coilovers

These coil overs are good things as they trap the spring(work like a sway bar) and can be released via air but as said above Rancho changed the shape of the shock body and the new shape dose not fit Glens coil overs remember these were made a long time ago and coil overs have come a long way over ...

Re: Matt Dunk's Ultra4 Car

How in the hell do you think this thing will ever work with the extractors mounted up side down is it to keep heat away from the sump. Will you be competing in the next tuff truck.
Why are the rear shocks mounted on the lower arms won't the arms bend and if you have 16'' shocks mounted like that will ...

Re: Working out coilover rates

Agree with brooksy here you don't want the car to squat in the rear on climbs and unload the front .If your spring rates are out a bit you can also cheat buy putting a bit more gas in them.
18'' coil overs are a long shock my opinion is it is better to carry a wheel then loose it under a rock just ...

How can breaking some bolts on 1 portal box cost $15 000 that would make the diffs worth $60 000 plus

Have a look at the clutch fan the grease in them looses its viscosity and the viscus coupling on the fan does not lock up properly this will cause it to over heat on the free way and mainly up hills common problem in Toyota.
You can buy the grease from Toyota very cheep fix.

To check if it is not ...

HO, the sooner competitors start seeing Tuff Truck as a rock crawling event (for big buggies) with a mud run, the sooner they will compete with more success.

Sticky compound tyres and a low COG are a MUST. Then you need to look at steering angles, diff assembly strength, front and rear digs, and ...

Mate put a breaker bar on it and rotate the engine until the bar is about 3''s of the chassis rail then crank the engine over with the key.
You will need 2 people to do this one to hold the socket on (using your FOOT NOT YOUR HAND) and one to turn the key.

Its a bit of an old trick but it works ...
