Hi All, 3.0L TD - go to start and motor turns over a few times then cuts out completely. Engine light (Orange) flashes. Turn accessories on and off 3-4 times and light stays steady and engine starts. Once started - all ok. Never stalls or faulters. Had service by a HOLDEN dealer.....they were told ...

80 Series Potential Purchase - Advice

Hi Giys,

Could l get an idea of what to look for mechanically in a 1991 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ80R GXL?

It has:
7 inch King springs
Tough Dog adjustable panhard rods
Caster plates
35 simexes.

Just wondering if it needs engineering with a 7" lift?
Does not come with a RWC....

Thanks

Valve Stem Seal on GQ

Boys According to dealer - Valve stems seals on a 1991 GQ 4.2 Petrol 210,000kms. Blowing smoke on start up until warm (is this related to this seal anyway??) Engine is not running LPG. What sort of drama does this job entail? Labour/cost wise? Looking to purchase this truck. Or is it not worth it ...

Be warned:

High km TD5s can become a financial nightmare! -Injector harnesses
-ECU's
-ABS/TC/HDC 'issue'
-ABS sensors

There are people on here that can be far more specific - BUT these were just part of my drama.

Awesome engine. BUT would never keep another one so long.

Warning Lights !!

Just some advice/wisdom! (200TDi Defender:) On a recent trip that did involved a bit of mud/water 2 warning lights came on: Brake Warning (not handbrake) - which is meant to to mean turn off and not drive till sorted. In that there is meant to be a leak somewhere? Had a very spongy pedal. But a few ...

200TDi Injector Pump - Reset/Adjust

Is there a noticeable difference if one was to have the injector pump 'played' with. Spoke to a reputable Rover workshop today and their spin on it is that it is worth doing! They said it basically makes it a little nicer to drive. i.e. when cold, up hills etc. No REAL world impact on fuel economy ...

So you can just fit the pod without replacing the entire dash. They want $500 for the complete dash! Pod is $150.

How much cutting is invloved!?

Yeah - other reason being more switches. Currently they are placed in awkward locations. Did you just put the centre facisa in - or the whole dash door-to-door?
