Oil filters..

Can anyone see any problems with replacing the standard Z170 oil filter (about $25) with the larger Z9 oil filter(about $8)
have done it with mine & hasn't changed the oil pressures. It should give better filtering & greater oil capacity...

Any one done this before??

I don't have a problem with the CV's.. the problem is the height.. the vitara will kick over most things.. just doesn't like the rocks.. To keep it Road legal in Qld you can only have 2" lift total (this includes tyres, body & spring) by doing a diff swap I should be able to get round this...

From what I can find it seems possible.

Vitara's as far as I know were a carby motor till mid 1994..
Efi motor should push the 31's I have a 95 SWB on 31's & it doesn't have a problem (heavy duty clutch but).. what is the difference in weight between the SWB & the LWB??

I would go for the 1.6L injected over the 2.0L have heard some nasty things about the 2.0L & the 1.6L injected seams bullet proof then if you like drop a turbo on it..

Assuming you want the offset for 4x4 work, you shouldn't need the taper on that side, if you do want it, double taper the holes..
no need to run a thick centre or double the holes..

I think the Grand Vitaras in the States come out with a TD.
If thats any help..

Had a look for it but couldn't find, so could be having a blond moment...

But I think the Toyota Blitz? came out with a 2L D & that was just an early serria but it would be hard to find one of those now..

You are in for a world of pain... Lots of guys on here can do the mods for you.. As for an engineer, good luck... best to start with QLD Transport (good luck) running anything over 35's in QLD will depend on your diff's think 25mm over standard.. Good luck... As for tracks there are heaps around ...
