i am getting overheating problems too. i have air con too. it only really over heats when driving at 100km/h or 4wd crawling and when the temps are 35C + i wonder if the stock sierra radiator isnt meant for having an air con in front of it and should be upgraded to a 3 core. plus i have spotties ...

the alt works. car starts.
all earths are ok.

i just installed a thermo fan. fan works fine cuts in normal. i may have arked the +ve when i reconnected the battery.

i went to the wreckers and got an EB Ford alt. only 60A tho. straight bolt up.
only mods is to swap the wires.

it should be very simple to fix. either go to the wreckers and find one or bolt a new one to the front.

check out after market fan makers davis craig or flex-a-lite.

they should make one for ur car.

check ur air con fan. one day i noticed my wasnt very cool, but i didnt know the fan connection had rusted out.

fixed the rusted connection now the fan works and its cold again

ive just replaced my rear bearings and they were exactly that way in your pic when i pulled out my bearings. i took them to a 4wd shop and they pressed them on exactly the same way except the retainer ring had a 45 degree cut was positioned right against the bearing. which makes sense so it doesnt ...

i got sick of the softtop. fitted it this weekend thanks spock and his pictures.

so much quieter at 100km/h. just wish i had bought it earlier.

has anyone else had the cap or welch plug on the sierra driveshaft come off.

i had the front one pop off a while back. now the rear one has popped off.

ive used a brass 30mm welch plug and hammered it in.

what grease is used to lubricate the shafts. bearing grease or moly

high tensile. 12mm dia bolt.

i replaced mine too. had to grind them off.

ive just done the king pin bearings and cups, knuckle oil seal and felt pads...the steering is like knew. much smoother and the steering doesnt shimmy.
