im looking around for a 4runner v6. early to mid 90's model. most of them have between 200-250 000 kms on them. how are the motors after this many k's? what else in particular should i be aware of when inspecting or test driving?

i dont think there would be many people with 2inch lifts paying that much for them.

does "...caster is also pre-aligned into the arms..." mean that if you intially have say a 2" lift you couldnt use the same arms if you later went to a 4 ...

although borderline, providing you aren’t powering too much else and don’t have a second battery, that alternator should be able to run all your lights, including a set of 100w driving lights.

the alternator is the factory one. which im almost sure is 12V 70 amps.

found the problem. bad connection at the globe under all the rubber covers.

the lamp holder needs to be replaced. It is making a poor contact and coroding the lamps connection prematurely.

thanks micky555 you are right. pulled all the rubber bits off the headlight assembly and had a closer look at the connection to the globe. one of the lamp holder connections is covered ...

have only ever bought the one pair. other pair were bought by a smash repairer after i got some panel beating done and he thought he busted the globe (but hadnt).

i reckon theyre awesome. when i get around to it i might buy some of the more cheaper popular ones and see how they compare.

will check it out. would surprise me if this was the case as my jimny is just over a year old

youre right rob. it is the clock spring in this case. which means the whole airbag assembly needs to be replaced. does anyone have a picture of this?

clock spring/ spiral cassette it was. unlikely to be under warranty as the mechanic who did the wheel alignment refitted it incorrectly (thank-you ARB). over $1000 to repair! very pissed off!

My horn doesn't work either (mines series 1, no airbag) - wheel alignment caused the issues.
