I have just transplanted a wide block Pajero KM145 five speed into a narrow block 4 speed case and fitted the 5 speed extension housing and transfer to it. Works fine only problem was the front input shaft bearing. I had to use the original 4 speed bearing as the front housing is diferent on the 5 ...

I have just rebuilt a 1981 L200 Express 4WD and found the diff ratio (4.875) terrible. I have transplanted a Pajero 5 speed gearbox into my old 4 peed which has helped but am now wondering if there is another diff that could be fitted to improve economy. Any body know if the 3.9 diff from a two ...
