The mounts in the pic bolt to the chassis where the rover arms did. Made using the centre plate from a poly chassis bush and GQ upper link mount that was cut off the diff. Lower links now have more triangulation than rover setup due to mounts being further apart on diff. I know the GQ stock links ...

GQ's pics & engine mount advice needed
Thought I might share some pics of another GQ diff install. Trussing is 75X75X5 SHS backed up underneath the bolt on mount and underneath the SHS with 10mm plate. Mounts are set up to use GQ lower trailing arms from diff to original point on Rangie chassis. Still deciding on where shock mounts will ...

Yes pulley will be facing engine, with body of alt forward. Dimensionally big motor + new home + 6" into the firewall = need for lateral thinking ;) , definite space issues! Googling last night I found there is no problem with running backwards other than cooling fan efficiency, fan going backwards ...

shackle bushing size and NB pipe size
Is there a commonly available shackle type bushing that fits neatly in a NB pipe size? Trying to avoid turning up carriers for the bush when making engine/gearbox mounts.

DiscoDino,
Another option is to use a nissan patrol 5 speed. Good first gear ratio, strong, and cheap. Les Richmond Automotive does a kit to put it between a rover v8 and LT230.

In Top Truck Challenge 03 there was a yellow 'Jeep' that had axles pivoting in the centre ala tractor front end with air bags controlling the articulation. Watching the footage it wanted to 'pig root'/hop alot when climbing and in the truck pull event but seemed to work fairly well in slow speed ...

No idea on the group buy. I just found em on the net a while ago and thought they were a better idea than the steel and seal jobbies. hydraulic pump/motor replacing tailshaft?
Hydraulic guru's... What would you need to replace a tailshaft with a hydraulic pump and motor arrangement? Could it be done without a big reserviour and cooler? What sort of pump/motor, line size etc would be required? Parameters would be approx. 5000rpm max speed, max torque at pump say 10k ft/lbs ...

cw&p strength
Question: If you have two sets of diff gears for the same type of diff, both approx the same ratio (4.6), but one has 11t pinion and 51t ring gear, and the other has 8t pinion and 37t ring gear, same hemisphere, same carrier, same materials, which one is stronger and why?

drum brake centre to disc diff
OK, I searched and couldn't find the answer. Can a h223b rear centre from a drum brake diff be used in a disc brake diff in rear of a GQ? Maybe just more fuel in the situation? Bad situation to be in, but maybe better to not make any more ...
