Thinking Heavy Duty Clutch...

Considering a heavy duty clutch for the Cruiser after a 10 week sojourn with the 22' off road capable 2.5T Coromal van. Had a couple of occasions exiting servo's where driveway is on an up hill slope & the clutch slipped so had to drop down to low range. Needless to say it didn't like turning ...

It has 27K on it so far & is about to head off on some serious touring - no, not 4by stuff but will include some offroad. Towing a Coromal Capri/Pioneer 20' (6m) tandem off road capable full caravan.... weighing about 2.5t all up. Had a short run 3 weeks ago with no problems other than one occasion ...

That could simply mean that this old fart has no bloody idea of how to enter search criteria properly. OK. Looking for pro's & con's on electronic ...

Ahhh physics. 44 Years ago was the last lesson I had on physics ... didn't mean much to me then & it still gets my brain in a tangle. Newtons. Only Newtons' I know of are Sir Isacc Newton & Bert Newton. The former could possibly solve this puzzle whereas the latter would be as usefull as a bridle on ...

haa haa, some years ago I went to AAMI for insurance and asked them if they'd cover my 4wd. Yes Sir. Even if I take off road in the bush ? How often ? she said . Maybe once a month, I said. I don't think we can cover you. She smiled. I thought, Bi**h. But when I was insured with DGA, they were ...

1. Drive smoothly, avoiding heavy acceleration or braking. Yes... heavy braking increases fuel consumption  What a crock... the braking doesn't increase comsumption itself, but every time you brake - decrease speed you are converting the energy of the car into heat, and then you'd have to ...

If it is the same as mine, as I expect it would be, marked track is a funny term. They described it to me as somewhere I could legally be. On the beach was an example I used - not a problem. Etc. The places you are not covered are where vehicles are forbidden, ie private property or no vehicle ...

..... & to think that I've been doing all that for the past 44 years.

If I'd realised it then, I could have patented the idea & made a bloody fortune by now.

I use all 6 so they wear even. Front to rear, rear right to spares (one on car, one in garage), spares to front. I don't cross over, although I don't know that's really such an issue for smaller (sub truck size) vehicles. Scott Got 2 x spares as well & virtually thinking along the same lines - but ...

Full width mud flaps - 100 series?

Fitting out our 05 T/D LC100 for The Big Lap shortly, towing an offroad c/van & considering putting a full width mud flap across the rear ... primarily to stop stones & crap from flying up & hitting the front of the van. Saw a similar set-up on a Troopy recently, this one was split into two sections ...

Lights on 05 T/D LC100

Considering putting a couple of Lightforce 240 units up front but concerned that they might be a little restrictive of airflow to the intercooler ..... especially when towing the van in hill country.

May have to settle for the 170's.

Your thoughts ..... ?
