I bought a head unit from Jaycar. It has two video inputs, one designated for reverse camera and one for anything. Two camera's plugged in, just push "source" to scroll between camera1, camera2, radio. Pretty simple.
Hasn't got GPS or anything like that, have my iphone for that

Yep, more like 35mm max in the back, could push 50mm but you won't like it. D40 Navara's have a similar issue. Best dual cab IFS is the hilux to get 50mm.

Re: Ironman Bars and Winches
There is always the ARB options. Commercial bar and magnum 9000lb winch $2070 if you fit it yourself.
Bar : http://www.arb.com.au/products/arb-prot ... s/3448400/
Not as pretty as a deluxe one, but certainly cheaper.

Pretty much the rule of thumb for the AVM's & GU's is standard is weaker than factory, and HP stronger.

Re: AVM aftermarket hubs
The trick with AVM and GU's is to get the right AVM hubs. There are two available. AVM445 is the standard hub and is weaker than the factory. AVM445HP is the high performance hub and better

Re: Navara lift
Not sure where you live, but in QLD the legal beagles state that IFS must have 60mm downtravel. You won't have that sitting on the bump stops, and in the unfortunate case of an accident, and a good check of your car...you could be in trouble.

Re: fitting bullbar to 98 model gu patrol. help?????
If you think ARB bars are made in china, your dreaming. You will need the fit kit. The kit weights almost as much as the bar, lots of different parts, not just the brackets. No real way around it, and if your GU does have airbags, it's the only safe way to go as the brackets will incorporate crush ...

Re: The police and GU Legal Lift....
Side note as well...I wouldn't try and claim you had a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift...the way they are regulating it is 2" allowed..total...so it's either 2" body OR 2" suspension...not both.

I think it's basically because enforcement has turned a blind eye for a long time, unless it looked truely dangerous.
It's rapidly changing now tho, they are starting to crack down big time on anything 4" and 35's or more, quite a few guys in Ipswich area getting defected.

That's a bloody good idea, couple that with the black widow bracket that allows the door to open more and it's almost like auto doors! Put some pics up of where you mounted the strut to give me some ideas

Once it's on the tyre, I've deflated a 285 from 37 to 18 in 22 seconds They are quick...and accurate..drop to what you need, not what is preset like my stauns which hardly get used now.

I run a 3" lift on my GU Patrol, never had an issue. I keep it nice and clean and it's running 285 all terrains so looks almost stock..until you stand next to it
I run 3 degree castor in the front with this lift as well, steering is beautiful.

Re: computer gps
Be careful about using a Laptop as a GPS in cab - I can tell you from recent experience that a VDU that faces the driver and can be operated while the vehicle is in motion (even though you aren't) will cost you 3 points and $133 dollars. I had a GPS in my 200 Series below the level of the dash, in ...

Re: anyone have a solar panel on there roof???
The size of the solar panel depends on what your running off your 2nd battery daily. My setup, the only things that run off the 2nd battery are a 40lt Waeco fridge and sometimes a 12v 11w fluro. I've found an 80watt solar panel and good weather can pretty much run this setup indefinately. Without ...

Try the Command Cruise Controls. My work Hilux has one, controller on the stalk...I thought it was factory when I first got the car.
Quite a few different options, just dig a bit on their site.

Re: GU Patrol Vs 80's Cruiser?
I went from a petrol 80 series to my current 4.2td GU and all I can say is I will never go back. Much better and updated interior, much much better ride handling, drives like a dream in fact, love it over my hilux work car. The only single thing I miss on the 80 is the drop down tailgate, that was ...

Re: ARB air locker troubles
Sounds like at least they are willing to fix it... What size tyres are you running? Strange question I know but when I had my old car with a rear air locker, I had issues after a few weeks. They wouldn't warranty my locker as I was running 33's at the time (31's standard) and that was more than the ...

I'd also recommend having a look at the Toyo Open Country all terrains. Been running them for 2 years now, awesome on road, very quiet, never lost traction. And have done everything offroad I've thrown at it including some serious mud. They are also wearing very well. My mechanic put me onto them ...

It could be a few things, the batteries could be worn out and just not holding charge for the length of time they should.
