Re: help me tabrocky/somebody boost question
Shambles, I think your refering to the Power Control Valve which is small round black plastic unit which is clipped onto a small bracket off the inlet manifold. It will have three hoses connecting to it. One from the inlet manifold at the point where the fuel pump compensator is connected, another ...

I put Lovells leaf springs under my Rocky about 6 years ago to give a 2 inch lift. No sagging at all and I have transfered them onto a second vehicle. A very good spring that isnt too firm. http://www.lovells.com.au/ Highly recommend them however they are possibly more expensive than some others ...

Although the glow plugs may be rated at 7 volts, running them from a 12volt supply shouldn't be an issue if your glow plug timer is working correctly. The timer serves two purposes - 1. pre heat the engine correctly for the given conditions, 2. protect the glow plugs from overheating. The period of ...

I haven't tried this before but I don't believe it would help. Most large thermo fans will still move less air than the engine driven fan. If your engine driven fan has a thermo clutch on it, that may be causing your problem. My 92TDI rocky also gets hot if you push it up a hill in hot weather and ...

Did it happen all of a sudden or has it been getting gradually worse over a period of time? If it's been getting worse over time and it's done much over 200k-250k kms then it's probably due for an overhaul (bearings, seals). I would expect it to cost $1200 - $1500 for a good quality job. They're not ...

F77 rear axle is different to the F75. I think the front is the same though. Be careful not swaping injectors and injector pump. I think the injector nozzles in the TD's are different to the NA's to cater for the increased fuel delivery. Could be wrong, but might be worth checking. You'll also need ...

I did see those Bainbridge ones the other day but they have two problems for what I'm trying to do. - They're a common bus which isn't what I'm after. - Cable entry is from the side rather than the rear like the factory. So yeah I still need the factory one. I'm not sure if the feroza one is the ...

Rocky radiator and fuse box wanted
I know this stuff is meant for the classifieds section but sometimes it doesn't get as much attention. So... Im after the following reasonably urgently: Radiator (can be buggered) - to suit F75 diesel rocky. Must be the type which has mounting tabs welded to it for the overflow bottle. Typically ...

I run a 2 1/2 inch system right up to the turbo on my 92 tdi rocky. Have 3 hotdogs in line and it's not loud at all. Just a nice whistle when you put your foot down and the windows open. If you cut the turbo flange off the factory exhaust its important to machine this out. The max diameter you'll ...

I'm running 31x10.5 Goodyear MTR's Only modification to fit the tires is 2 inch lifted suspension (Lovells leaf springs and Rancho Shocks). I own a 1992 F75 TDI Rocky on 31x10.5 tyres with the same engine configuration as the one in the F78 your looking at. Comfortable cruising speed... 100kph easy. Quite happy up to 110 but the fuel tends to go quicker thats all. 120 for short overtaking is fine also. I would also say that "comfortable ...

I was also puzzled by this hole until reading the manual. That hole is actually for a breather tube that goes vertically up and connects to a small hole on the underside of the factory cold air intake duct that lies across the top of the fan shroud. A van pump has a rotor with carbide impellers mounted slightly offset from centre in a round cylinder. The impeller blades are not fixed so that they are able to slide in and out of the rotor piece as it rotates. This is neccessary because if you take a fixed point on the rotor, as it turns, the ...
