Re: Sierra engine cutting out

Agreed with 80'sman, mine was doing the same thing, but in second gear, put a new selector bush in, and it seems to be fine, havent had a problem with it for 6 months now.

Wicked, thanks for clearing that up for me. Any idea about the comparisons to the nissans? you cant really compare them to nissans, they are totally different set up. depends what you are going to use it for, nissans are coily all round and flex totally different to the landcruiser. thats with the ...

yeah the side with 'the bigger lip' faces the gearbox. ull find if you put it in the other way, 95% of times the clutch springs will hit the flywheel bolts.

also alot of the clutches these days have either 'flywheel side' or 'gearbox side'

landcruiser diesels are notorious for clutch shuddering. and unless youve taken them all out, a cruiser has too many leaves in the packs to tramp unless you have really big tyres and a 2h on roids. i have a new v8 cruiser ute and i have to try to get tramp. i just dont think a 2h has the powa. no ...

all good, lowered the rear tyre pressures to 30psi. with an alloy tray on the back and 40psi in the rear tyres, it was axle tramping.

definatly not clutch shudder.

Axle Tramp?

just bought a hj75 cruiser ute 2h 4l diesel, on take off, i get a massive shudder, feels like axle tramp. does anyone else have this problem? if so what have you done to fix it?

is it just axle tramp due to not much weight on the rear wheels?

cheers
