Hey thanks 'New' I'm leaning away from the bearing now 'cause the noise isn't there all the time... could be very wrong there?? Might start with the belt etc, and see what happens from there. Although, i guess while it's apart, should do the bearing at the same time, just in case  Thanks again

I'm sorry if my questions seem too simple for you all to pay any attention to, but i've contacted toyota in an attempt to locate a genuine part and they want to sell me the whole pully etc. Is it possible to just get the bearing alone? Will i have to take it out first and try a bearing shop? Any ...

What made you decide to go reco rather than engine swap? i want to hang on to the little beastie as long as i can, still a heap of exploring to do and i like it's size off-road, so i thought the better long term option was to reco. i know there are plenty of success stories with the applause swap ...

MRT are best for DIY - come ready to bolt on with flex and gearbox mount. If you can see before you buy they'd be worth a look. extractors ??

hey all, sorry to visit a well worn topic again, but i just have a couple of questions... * as mentioned previously, apart from mild power loss and oil usage the current original engine i have is going ok, and i might milk it for a while longer, rather than prematurely swap it now. but i am thinking ...

My bet is it's your shackle and eye bushes squeaking. Mine were doing the same (when bouncing up and down on the tow bar) until a liberal dose of silicone spray fixed them. ;) yeah i figured the squeaking would be a little less critical, it's more the rattle i'm worried about. i'll try and get on ...

i think they're standard leafs, hasn't been lifted etc... the noise is definately in the rear. everything they have scribbled in their report applies to the rear except the bit about the "driveshafts moving in hubs" ??
