I have a '92 vitara SWB and the front wheels are not turning. I have switched the hubs to locked and changed the transfer stick to 4H and 4L. You can here it click into each transfer gear change but the front wheels still just sit there and don't spin. What should I be looking into to fix this. I ...

Are you meaning the part that holds the bottom edge of the back window to the top of the back door. If so is is a plastic rod about 10mm diameter by 1.2m that slides into the sock along this edge. You could pick one up from any pllastics supplier like alternative plastics in Melbourne.

by the metallic grinding noise and the very loose gear lever I am in need of fixing the gear box in a 92' carby vitara and was wanting to know if there are any options on better gear sets that will improve off road ability so that I fix one problem and improve the car at the same time. Currently ...

Hi
Same problem in my car. The leaver stopped moving the latches as the cable gets loose so get your fingers under the latches while pulling on the leaver to release the catch.
Also try standing in the back so you can pull up on the leaver with more force.

coolent in foot well

The foot well in my 92 Vitara is filling with coolent, mainly on drivers side but that is due to where I park. I have assumed that it is a heater problem, my question is what part most likely needs replacing and where would I get one from in Melbourne.

Thank You
Mr wet feet

I was able to fit upto a 235/75 R15 on a stock 92 JX vitara without any mods or rubbing so I would assume the JLX will have no probs with the size. Correct me if I am wrong.

If you can remove the bolt the mounts the light then take the bolt out and see the people at coventry fastners http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/busSearch.do;jsessionid=64014e99b2122162aa98f7e639e9 and they can fix you up with tamper proof bolts and one way screw bolts, when used with locknuts (same ...

I have a 92 vitara 2door and I was able to fit 235/75 R15 (29") muddies on with out modding. You will most likely need bigger rims as not all wheel fitters will but 29" rubber on the stock rims. If you check the for sale section you may find a set of rims with rubber if there is no big rush.

1" body lift

I am wanting to give my vitara a 1" body lift so that I can fit 29 or 30" tyres is this going to be enough as I don't want to cut the wheel arches or bash to much sh!t. If so can any one tell me where I can get a 1" or if needed 1.5 - 2" body lift kit in Melbourne and rough prices (if known).

soft top security

I fixed the problem in my soft top vitara by building a wooden box that I then screwed into the same holes that hold the rear floor at the tail gate. I then covered the whole box with diamond plate rubber. The only way into the box is through the tail gate.
