Please excuse my ignorance but as I am trying to learn I would like to know more about R & P's. As I understand it there are various R & P ratios that can be used in various Suzuki's ie. 3.37, 4.30, 4.62, 5.12, 5.38, 5.62 and an aftermarket 5.83. Now as I understand it the number of teeth on the ...

I know that the 1989 1.3 carb Sidekick in the U.S. had a 5.62 and Calmini offers a 5.83 aftermarket and I also believe there is a 5.38 but don't know what Suzuki that came out of.

DIY crawler t-case

Just wondering if anyone has seen this method of making a lower ratio t-case and if this is doable on a Vitara?

There's an article on the following site about exhausts and backpressure that will give you a better understanding about what you may want or not want to do. http://www.cmr.uq.edu.au/~rotor/auscar/auscar.html

That sounds great, thanks. I'll look into it. I know in the U.S. there are companies that can upgrade your output to what you want by the amp but I don't know if anyone does this in OZ.

Alternators

Anyone replaced an alternator in a 1.6 Vitara with a higher output one or had the original upgraded? If so, what did you do and how well has it worked.

I am looking at using this in conjunction with an auto and front and rear lockers.I figure the extra low range will help with descents and also if I am running slower I will be less likely to destroy the weak front end in the Vitara by having to use momentum and having wheelspin occur. I was also ...

Rockhoppers or dual t-case?

I am looking at fitting a set of Rockhopper gears for a Vitara and wondered if anybody has had any experiences, good or bad or do I consider dual transfer cases?
