Re: Hilux diffs.. Brakes question
Standard one should be fine as hilux brakes are designed to stop a larger vehicle , and can be engineered , you might need a rear brake bias to avoid rear locking but not always , try it first , Cheers Paul.

As said above , a cv which runs generally flat will not over heat and will last a lifetime in vehicle's without a great deal of deflection. They also have less load. A cv will not last very long at a sharp angle because they will overheat , become notchy and eventually fail. Centrifigal force will ...

About 99% of barwork is in the correct notching , the pipe should almost touch each other right arround the join so a stick welder will work okay , it will allow more penetration than one of these cheaper mig welders , and once you get the hang of the stick you will be able to weld on all angles ...

You will probably find you will have to get custom pistons made , I was quoted 500 dollars each , 1.6 litre pistons will fit as the bore can go out to 100 thou , the only problem is the pistons are a little higher and would project through the block about 40 thou , you would need custom rods as the ...

Dank , you'll be surprised how much more it ways than that , also the 75 kgs for each adult , you will probably be under braked for that much weight and tyre size , also exceeding the GVM for the vehicle , when I had my truck the engineer stated that I could not have run the 35's without the brake ...

14 - 16 inches , for a 300 pound , the shorter the arm the stiffer. A 300 pound bar should work ok on a cj6 , I am putting the same on a cj5 , patrol diffs , 350 chev , turbo 350 , 36 inch swampers. With the long arm it will more than likely flex with the bar connected , and it will provide great ...

Yes both ends will have locators , when machining the weld only do the half on the shaft side , not the uni or slip joint side to avoid machining the step off. The weld sits halfway across each section of the joint if you can understand that , also mark the shaft so the uni/slip joint go back in ...
