i'd say he's ripping you off. a couple of years now but i had the tensioner fail so had to get a new belt and tensioner and was a little over $400 including parts and labourand had the car back in 2 hours

not sure if it will work for you but i fitted a ln65 bullbar to my ln106 with only a little bit of grinding of the bar but it is a profile style bar not a winch bar

i have a ln106 and found a vibration the other day and found a stuffed rear uni however when reversing i can hear a clunking type noise first thought uni so renewed that but noise is still there its only in reverse all forward gears sound fine. have i done my diff or reverse gear? thanks dave ps ...

this must be one of toyotas common things i had to have mine done not long ago for the same reason and same side but i did find that the anchor pin on mine had rusted and swelled which stopped it from working so all the strain went onto the mount..

i managed to get it off now the question is do i keep driving untill it dies or see about a rebuild now or get one second hand and hope its good. it still runs smoothly just getting in first is a bit hard at times.

re filling hilux gearbox oil

hi i went to replace the oil in the gearbox and can't get the filler plug undone so was wondering if it is possible to refill thru the gear lever hole as i have the floor and console out to dry and was hoping this would make it easier.

just curious how sloppy should the lever be? my ln106 is very loose in first to the point where it moves to nearly the 5th position 1st is sometimes hard to get in so i was wondering if the dishes or cups that were mentioned earlier would fix the problem before it gets too bad.

thanks i was thinking they were useless a they were not supporting any weight. the bar i got was from an ln65 and it fits perfextly without these panels.

here's the pics they are about 3 to 4mm thick and 1 on each side. the radiator does not touch it at all as there is about 6 to 8mm gap.

hilux radiator supports

hi i have a ln106 hilux and just got a bullbar cheap and while fitting it i had to remove the 2 panels either side at the bottom of the radiator and was wondering if they are important as they don't seem to take any weight.

hi all thanks for all the help i have solved the problem and it was one of those simple things you never think off. hilux charging at 16.5v

hi i recently replaced my old dieing starter motor in my ln106 hilux and now its charging at 16.5 to 16.9v is my regultor now stuffed or is the replaced starter causing this the old starter i was getting a charge of 12.5v to 13v max
any help will be greately appreciated
