Re: problem with a 2.8l hilux

Might also be worth having a look at the injector pump for leaks, mine was doing something similar for a while and then one day the whole thing went and cost $1300 as i had to get a new injector pump.

I have a 91 DC lux and ended up going to a RidePro suspension, I find the shocks are great and slightly bigger bore than other shocks.

I think for everything, included bushes, steering dampener, shackles , u-bolts etc etc was about 1400 and put it myself with a mate.

I did my tyres the other day and run then at abour 40psi, from memory the sidewall says 50psi for loaded with 1000kg.

I find 40psi fine for driving around town but certainly need to lower when going bush.

Yeah if you get a snorkel you should be fine, I have been through water where the water was just below the windscreen which was a bit scary, but if you keep a constant speed and dont change gears while going through the water all is good.

from my understanding the rears should be fine, but the fronts will rub.

However, with wheel spacers they will be OK, just be careful on which states as i think some states wheel spacers are illegal, eg: Vic

OK thanks for that, yeah these are rough prices on what I was quoted for bushes and shackles.

all front bushes - $55
all rear bushes - $50
all front shackles - $150 (standard length)
all rear shackles - $150 (standard length)

So thats is like $400 extra for new bushes and shackles.

Cheers

Not a problem guys, but generally more motors are the same, that was my experience with the commo v6 so I assume that a toyo 3.4 v6 will be much the same.

Anyways all the best with the power quest.
