I wouldn't mess with it. If you put the fan out of ballance you'll eventually have fan blades sticking out of your bonnet.

I've got a GQ ute and drove a GU (turbo).
The GU is much more cumfortable and quieter than the GQ. It also has more leg room.
BUT!
I also would rather scratch the Q than the U.

I took a 1996 model lux for a test drive. Ahhh! It was so painful. 2.8 non turbo. I can run faster than that. I’m now sold on a later model 3lt TD with IFS. I’ll just have to spend some $ and get it up to scratch. At least I’ll have a comfy ride during the week. BTW. What if you fit the locker ...

I would have so much easier if Tojo stuck with the live axle and introduced soils into the equation.

What sort of 4x4ing are you looking at doing? Camping trips? Long-range touring? Hard day trips? All of the above :) ...Dare i say if it's your work car, you won't be out doing 'dead-hilux hill' on Sunday afternoon. I probably will if I knew wher "Dead-Hilux hill" was. I’ve been looking for a live axle Hilux in good nic but I’m not having much luck. What If I spent a little more and got a later model (tax deductible because it’s mainly for work) with all the bells and whistles? I’d be probably getting a 3ltTD, IFS (comfort), low k’s, etc. Now the problem ...

It's now time to get my 19 year old daughter her first car.
She's been looking at the Vitaras.
I don't know much about them and all the one's we've seen for sale have at least 130 -150 k's on the clock.
What are they like?
Would you recomend them for your girl?

The reason I ask is; everybody I ask says it costs over$500 to have a second battery installed and this is just 99 pluss the battery.
I'm capable of installing this unit but was just wondering if anybody knows if it's any good or just "supercheap" imported crap.

Have you guys seen the Supercheap Auto catalogue?
They’ve got a Battery Isolator kit and tray for $99. What do you think? Do you think it would be good enough?
