Hi Matto
I went down the GU path from my old petrol GQ as the family was getting too big. 3 kids well seperated.
Go down the bigger exhaust and make sure a bigger dump pipe as well. I have the Beaudesert 2 3/4 and made a big difference
Block the EGR. Check on the Patrol forum and do a search ...

Chip and Exhaust could be between $2000 and $2500 all up. The EGR can be done for next to nothing. Check out the topic by doing a search on the Patrol4x4 forum.

Hi Slosh
Just check the dump pipe flange plate pattern.
I have the 2.8 GU and recently put on a 2 3/4 exhaust and searched for dump pipes but the Nissan Patrol is only a 4 bolt pattern not a 5 bolt like a lot of Garrett Turbos. I think the exhaust side is custom made by Nissan. You can buy a 2 3/4 ...

I have just recieved a chip from Europe for my 2.8 GU.
It is distributed by SanCo in Denmark but manufactured in Germany. The 2.8 was a popular engine in Europe and considerable R&D was commited in making this chip. From what they tell me, it could be one of their first chips in Australia.

Go to the Patrol4x4 forum website. There has been plenty of discussion on it and it turns out to be a pump issue. It can be fixed with a plate and o'ring.
