i hear also brake lines may need to be extended? i guess all trucks are diff in regards to what needs to be changed, so i'll just have to wait and see...
is this mod even legal in QLD? not that i really care, but will it be a noticable defect if i were to be pulled over?

I was planning on doing it when i got all my materials together and got time to machine it etc. no real rush really.
im aware that a few modifications are required after the lift is inplace (fuel filler, selector and something bout radiator fan? or something???)

just a quick question...
if i was to do a body lift on my MK SWB - what would be a suitable material to use as the blocks on which to lift? Nylon??? i was gong to get the nylon or whatever material you recomend turned down at work on the CNC lathe.

Well after a week of dicking around with my mk electrical assembly. iv ditched the old altinator (it was fuct) and picked one up from the wrekers. putting her in today. hopefuly all is well after this... i pulled apart the old altinator and cleaned and re-built, but still nothing.

Yesterday arvo, i pulled out the battery, whacked her on the charge and hosed out the altinator... This morning put it all back in, the truck started fine...
BUT even reving it, the volts remain around 12. so the altinator isnt giving a charge to the battery. and it still does the indicator thing ...

thanks for the help lads, firstly i will probs hose down the altinator to see if i can get most the mud off, let it dry and test volatages... i'll check water levels in the battery and put her on the charge overnight... if this doesnt help then i'll pull the altinator down and do a proper clean out ...

Hey guys,
Having a problem with my MK... SD33t.
iv noticed that when i put my indicators on, the car stalls!!!??? it will be ideling fine, then if i put the left or right indecator on, it drops in revs and eventually cuts out...

hey all. well iv had my mk swb for nearly a month now... and from searching around variouse 4x4 workshops on the southside of bris iv managed to get a fairly good looking EFS 2" suspension lift kit for a nice price. which will hopefuly be going in next week.

iv been quoted around the $2,000 mark for old man emu set up. inc shocks, leaf springs, new bushs, steering dampner and labour... is that expensive for this kind of modification?

Hey guys, Iv got an 84 MK SWB... iv gotten a few quotes to get a 2" suspension lift done. they are about $500 dif between each...
Whats peoples opinion on a cheaper option like Old Man Emu set up?
Are they a good brand and have you herd good or bad things about them?

i dont mind forking out a bit of extra $ to ensure quality...

I bought my MK SWB on the weekend. 5spd Turbo diesel 3.3lt aircon, 5 seats next to no rust and 90% tread on bridgestones... got it for 5 grand with 6 months rego. very solid reliable truck. not sure what others are going for.

Body lift is junk, and only has any value at all if you need it to fit your chosen tyres.
I would say pick your tyres/wheels - 33 x 12.5 with a wide offset rim is good for the "tuff truck" look. Maybe 35s, but only if you can afford them and aren't worried about the cops.
Then do some suspension ...

im just not sure what the best option would be. this is my first 4x4. i want a tuff truck look with good offroad abilities. mainly be useing on beach. but this is my daily driver also...

Hey all.
I just purchased an 84 MK patrol SD33T 5spd.
This is my first 4x4.
I really want to get some good lift and some 33"'s on her.
i was thinking 2" suspension, 2" body lift. would this be enough?
also will my speedo be effected by having the larger tyres?
the MK has done just over 300,000km ...
