Diff question
I'm after some info on GQ and GU diff. A mate has done a engine swap, removing the 2.8 from his 98 GU wagon and replaced it with a 4.2Turbo from a 89 shorty. Questions 1. what are the respective diff ratios. 2. if different (and i assume they are) can the centers be swapped. 3. If not can the hole ...
Is the engineering a Vic thing because when I did my Cruiser I just made 2'' poly blocks and replaced with grade 8 bolts? Take to transport dep put over the pit, as long as they are poly or steel, grade 8 bolts, test the brakes on the roller and check the lights and that’s it. They give you a form t ...
LC60 diff sits at the same height with 31's as a Rover does on 29's. The LC60 diff and axle housing is larger. Slunnie You missing the point i know they are a bigger housing and there for will be closer to the ground, but it's nothing to get wrapped around the axles about (pardon the pun), if you ...
I am doing the center swap a i got a 80ser Elocker for stuff all, and a Lux rear for $150. Why is everyone so concerned about the clearance of the diff, i bet all the cruiser owners don't think there diffs are to low!!! And as for having to run bigger tyres, a 60ser diff with 31'' tyres sits the ...

I am looking at the 2wd kit for my D1, after putting one in my 80 Ser in 2002 and found it to be the best mod I’ve done. All pros and no cons, the back lash was the biggest issue and it fixed it just fine. Felt funny the first few days but after that I could not tell the difference. Makes me laugh e ...

80Ser Diff Center?
I( have found a 80ser Sahara 4.1 diff canter with a factory diff lock for my D1 to go with the Hilux rear, has anyone used one of these before. I have not seen the center yet and do not know what side the motor is on, or how big it is(they are electric). Because if it flows on the sump it will be no ...

I have had all three and the all have pros and cons. If you have a ball and chain and a few rug rats the Nissan or Cruiser are much more suited to that as for size. I have a D1 now and I had to put draws in the back, because once the fridge went in there was no room left in the back! As far as parts ...

disco 2" lift
Hi guys Looking at doing a lift on my Ser 1 Disco. Have done a search and found a few things but nothing in to much detail. Have done several lifts in the past on Toyota's and Nissans but the rover look a bit more complex. Was looking at the LRA kit but it is 2 & 1/2 inch and in QLD you can only go ...
