I have a 94 NJ 3.0, The engine management light comes on randomly (airflow meter code, replaced Intake air control motor) although this is in no way effecting the engine when it lights up... Secondly after the car has been driven and turned off, when you go to start it, it has a slight fire and if i...

Still got a bad miss????
Had the heads done up on my nj, due to it using a bit of water and the fact that it has 280k on it, did the timing belt, plugs, leads, rotor button and cap while i was at it, it still has a very distinctive miss and lacks power. Compression averages bout 165psi per pot, havn't had it on the road yet...

Peoples thoughts on my situation with my 3.0ltr
I have blown the head gasket in my 94 gls, Am thinking it will be more econimical to buy a low km engine then to get the heads done (has 280k on it). What are the timing belt intervals on a 3.0ltr? what sort of $ is reasonable for a second hand motor?
Thanks for any advice

Average Engine life of V6 3.0l
Just wondering what is the average life expectancy of my 3.0ltr, it gets an oil change every 5000klm, using quality oil of course. It doesn't blow smoke and uses pretty much no oil between changes, it has 280k on the clock. my main concern is are these engines prone to probs later in life? and is it...

Not 100% sure, but as far as I know, there is no hot water control valve. Hot water flows through the heater all the time. The way the heat into the cabin is regulated is that the air bypasses the heater coil, so maybe the connection to the bypass flap in the air ducting has fallen off or become di...
