Re: Gassing a cherokee?

Yeah, that's the issue i have been looking at. There is little enough room with the spare in there as it is!

Re: Gassing a cherokee?

Yeah,
I found out about their thirst already.
One quote i have received is for about $2000 after the $1500 rebate.
I think it will pay for itself pretty quickly though, and i plan on having it for a while.

Thanks,

Gassing a cherokee?

Hi guys,
Sorry i couldn't find this on search.
I just picked up a 96 XJ Cherokee Sport with 165,000 klms on it.
Are these a good candidate for an LPG conversion? (It is my DD as well as fun bus)

If so, does anyone have any idea of the approximate cost?

I know it's the soft option, but i took mine to an auto elec. He had to machine some off the back of the sierra pulley to get it to sit so the belt was flush. He checked and connected all the wires, bench tested it all. As long as i took it out of the 'zook and put it back in, he only charged me $30 ...

I know what you mean about the brake booster. We put one in my maruti when we did the engine and 5-speed conversion. I'm glad we did. Makes a big difference.

P.S. most 'zook stuff will also bolt up to a Maruti. Geez, for $5500 you could have mine.....

The metal channel inside the door that the window is supposed to be guided by has broken free of the door and is now hanging off the rubber/felt lining, rattling and tapping annoyingly. I have to get in there and rip it out as there is no way it can be re-welded in there. I just have to lift the ...

Of course it turns out that the regulator wasn't the actual problem.....

I only have a 4-burner Zook i'm afraid.
But i strike a lot of snags. I gave the body a bit of a chop. There was just too much at steak. It needs more beefing up though. I hope it doesn't get t-boned.......

Try the border track Moph.
Up near Pinnaroo, 2.5 hours run from Adelaide. Good fun. Don't do it alone.
Yep Steve, it's almost in Victoria....In fact, spit out the passengers window and it lands in Victoria.

I got an upgraded wiring loom from potter on this site. $75 inc postage. It was well made, truly plug 'n play into your existing headlight sockets etc, and a i also got narva h4 insert headlights. I went to 55/100w globes, but am thinking of dropping back to the 55/65's, because they are almost too ...

window glass prob

Hi all, I n searching i have found that what i have may be a Bailey channel (?) issue, but i need some advice. My passenger window is RS. I thought it was the mechanism, which i replaced with one from the wreckers, but the problem is still there. The rubber/felt channel AND the metal c-shaped ...

Can SOMEONE make me a pair of 2" extended shackles?

I have been waiting for a mate to do it, but he is busy as, and i need the shackles for the back of the ute. I can't get to a place to do it myself. I am blinding everybody with my low beams, and constantly driving uphill!

Give me a price. I have the bolts. We'll negotiate.

Anyone?

Could be a touch more than 45. But not much.

If anything i will go about 1 inch over standard to see what happens, but yes they are the standard 70mm.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the problems i am likely to encounter if they go much over the 45 degrees?

yep, just re-drilled the hangers. It all fit quite nicely, and is a LOT better behaved on the bumpy stuff now. The front shackles are actually the standard ones. they sit at about 45 degrees forward on flat ground with the 2" lifted springs moved about 35mm further back in the hangers. Which rear shocks

I have searched and read all about which rear shocks to go with 2" lifted springs when you are on a budget. However, i only have 1" lifted rear springs, which are nice and soft (i needed that because of how light the back of the ute is). I did a RUF with 1" lifted shocks as well (which were closer ...

I was driving along the other day when my ute started roaring. I was close to the shop that put the muffler on for me about 3 months ago, so i crawled around there and we had a look. The muffler had cut cleanly at a weld about half way along. It wasn't hitting anything, and all the rubber mounts ...
