Re: Surface Rust on Cromo Axles

Your biggest concern should probly be rust where the outer axle seal is. But just clean em up and bang em in. My spares live on the back of a buggy, they are rusty it dosnt really bother me

Winter wheelen weekend. Qld

For those who haven't heard, the winter wheel is on again this year. It will be held on the weekend of the 5/6 of July. It is at city view beaudesert. There will be a pig on the spit Saturday night for 25$ a head. This also includes a momento and some other stuff. Normal park fees also apply.

Re: King Of the Park Challenge

I believe no gps this year (thank goodness) and tuff trucks are vs winch trucks. Rock crawlers and aus4s are in the same group. It is about 10ish km lap. That's all I know.

Re: Running 2 different diff ratios?

yes running two different ratios is ok within reason, no what you are going to do won't work for traction. 4.11 in the front and 4.3 in the rear would be ok but other way round wont climb. You can try and see how it feels, whats the worst that can happen? Just keep off the black top.

In a four wheel drive, with it in four wheel drive, you have no chance of the front and rear locking up in different times. They are linked together with gears and shafts. Unless you have a centre diff lock unengaged.

Re: CAD design

every thing i have ever built has been cad designed. i first give it a sweep, then try and find some chalk. then just draw ot up till i like the look. i try to do it in one to pne scale to get the full picture but sometimes i run out of shed space.

Re: NOS anyone used and abused? Info pls

Mine is a zex kit. best efi kit you can get imo. I also ingauge mine at very low rpm, fully aware that it is doing detremental things but it will pull the motor through into boost instead of stalling. a stock 16b will not run 75hp for long either, but it will be great fun while it lasts.

Re: 2 real wheeling tech questions!

it is not the lite wieght that causes the hopping. it is the fact that they are designed to carry a load so the leaves were built for that, hence no travel unloaded. Yes weight equals traction, but a light rig dosent need as much traction to make the same climb. Traction also busts stuff. So in ...

Re: King Of the Park Challenge

I dont think the winch walls were too big for the buggys, i should have just put enough string on to get to the top. rocks were only rocks not boulders, when you can fly through it on worn out 33" tyres without the navi getting out you know they aint big. We only had issues with reading the gps ...

A transaxle buggy will work much better with air shox will be far better than bike gear and bike forks, for a crawler. a off road go cart bike gear would be the choice.
