Re: gq steering wheel change? what fits & looks ok? eg: pul

N13 pulsar fits (late 80's / early 90's) I had one from a SSS for a while it was a nice wheel. A bit too small for me though couldn't see the dash properly

Re: Pyro on a N/A diesel, what temps they run?

I call BS on running hotter. Maybe if you compared the n/a temps right next to the exhaust port with a pyro fitted in the dump pipe of the same engine after fitting a turbo they'd be higher, but that's not comparing apples with apples. Think about it more fuel + more oxygen = higher egt's

Re: how weak is my 5th gear in my GU 2005

By fitting the reduction gears you are actually reducing the load on the gearbox, only the Diffs and axles will see a higher torque. Unless you mean you'll be in 5th more often? I often tow in 5th low just to cruise at a reasonable speed between harder sections to save constantly stoping to go from ...

Re: Current model dual cabs, your opinions?

Had a look around the new ford/mazda dual cab other day and it looked alright apart from the very small gap between tire and shock strut. It looked to me if you let you're tyres down the tyre would scrub the strut. Has anyone had this happen or noticed the lack of room there? The tire only really ...

I think what people are thinking of with hollow bar is strength to weight ratio. A hollow bar will have a higher strength to weight ratio than the same size / material solid bar. The solid bar will still be stronger.

Re: Bigger fuel tank or LPG

if a rebate has been claimed on the tank you use you dont get it again, so if the tanks resonably new i'd put money on it having a rebate claimed against it. Not true, There is no limit to how many times the rebate can be claimed on the gas system itself. The only restrictions are that the rebate ...

Re: Trouble bleeding clutch in GQ Patrol

I got rid of that big loop up near the firewall (couldn't really see the point of it and it was in the way of the dump pipe). Then I just pushed the brake fluid up through the bleed nipple in the slave cylinder with a syringe, worked a treat and much easier than trying to pump it down from the ...

Mine is into the top of the sump too and it is below the static oil level but I don't think it's a problem. Remember as soon as you start the engine the oil level in the sump will drop.

Swapping Warn M8000 for Tigerz 12000

Hi All, I've got an 8000 pound Warn winch that I bought new a couple of years ago. I have been looking into changing the wire to rope but have noticed I could probably just sell the Warn and "upgrade" to a Tigerz 12000 pound winch with rope for probably litle or no cost. My thinking is: I'll get the ...

Re: Safari turbo kits and td42. Any good?

I've got the safari kit, very happy with the quality and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the design and all parts are top quality. eg. it comes with a 3" dump and full 3" mandrel bent exhaust with a decent flex coupling and retains all factory hanging points. The ...

It wouldn't raise the cog much just lifting the tray, it's the weight that you put on the tray that you would notice a lot more. A simple way to get a bit of an idea of the effect it will have would be to compare the weight of the tray to the sprung mass of the entire car (basically everything but ...

Safari Turbo + ARB battery tray problem - GQ TD42

Hi All, I have a TD42 GQ patrol with ARB dual battery tray on the passenger wheel arch, I have just fitted a Safari turbo kit and have now found that the 'U' shaped duct that goes from the main filter on top of the motor to the turbo inlet is hard up against the battery tray.
