Hey Ausyota, nice looking tray! I'm in a similar situation as I have no wheel arches / mud guards / mud flaps over my rear wheels on my Hilux. I've been driving like that for about 9 months and haven't been pulled over by the police yet. Any chance you could show a close up pic of how your mudflaps ...

From the battery to the anderson plug will be no more than 50cm as the Aux battery is in the tray. The only items that will be run off this connection are spotlights when hunting and an Engel fridge. These items won't be used every weekend. The fridge maybe once a year and the spotlights a few times ...

What size wire for power outlet?

Hi all, I want to have an anderson plug power outlet in my tray coming from the auxillary battery. Is 6mm wire sufficient to run the power to the anderson plug or should it be thicker/thinner?

Also I can only buy 5mm thick wire from SuperCheap Autos. Does anyone know where I can buy 6mm thick wire ...

I've got no idea on this but it sounds good if it worked for the costs stated. Would you put it on gas or leave it on petrol?

I would have to say that www.4wd1.com are a real rip off if they are selling the compressor for $297 and other businesses are selling them for $170 and $180. There's no grey area there.

As Spazbot said there's room for transportation but you will need to tip a seat forward to get them out.

Hilux Airbox Conversion Problem

I have started an airbox conversion on my 97 Hilux 2.8 diesel tray. I have removed the original airbox in favour of a Surf airbox to give me enough room for a second battery at the front of the engine bay (passenger side). I have come across a major problem.

The outlet on the surf airbox is approx ...

I just did a search on car sales and had a look at 90 surfs that were listed. Of all the SUrf's that had pictures of their engine bays they all had dual battery setups and the batteries were at the front of engine bay on either side. I've studied the pictures closely and this swapping the Surf air ...

I've been tossing up as to where to put my 2nd battery in my 97 Hilux tray 2.8d. I was going to put it in the tray but now I'm thinking otherwise. Have you guys got any pics of the surf airbox's in the hilux. It would be a great help.
cheers

Has anyone got any pics on where they have mounted the compressor or tank?

I've got a 97 Hilux Tray 2.8 diesel and I'm not sure where would be the best place to mount them.
