454 TBI set up with manifold. http://www.suburbanimports.com.au/otherparts.htm ..$650 only needs remaining sensors and ecu which a delco can be picked up for $50-100 ecu rewrite $50 well below the $1000 carbie with without mods to make it more reliable in the scrub.

If carby was the only option and clearly it is not....stay well clear of holley, you may as well fit up a 44 gallon drum and feed it directly to the manifold, any thing with complex idle and metering circuits will serve well and not suffer from the tuning issues you will be almost guaranteed of ...

Injection is the only way to go, carby wont pass emmssions for rego/engineering on an 04 patrol.

LSX injextion from GM is a streight bolt up job..

I have both dual battery and LPG. My converter sits above the exhust manifold battery against the fire wall pasanger side. Back firing is genraly caused by unburn fuel igniting in the exhaust.
Esentialy a few things cause it. Being too rich ie not enough air to fuel for combustion, incorrect timing bag plugs and or leads etc.

Cody for 16G's you wont see anything relatively new mate. Maybe an average TB45(petrol). 2.8 deisel or maybe even an early 3L deisel 4.5's are thirsty baut have good power 2.8's can be a bit sluggish and have had some cold start problems etc but there are lost of extras available to help on the ...
