Oil is fine and it has a typical Ring and pinion growl but my main concern is if it would be alright to keep driving on it till Christmas when its getting the rebuild and upgraded axels with locker and all. I was just worried about it going pop some time.

My rear one's making some pretty bad sounds at the moment and i plan to upgrade it and air lock it as soon as i can afford to. It had a tyical ring and pinion whine and the LSD squeels when one wheel spins.

Is it safe to drive on it for a bit or is it likely to blow to bits and what will happen ...

Well I've sold the Vitara now and own the jeep outright so it's time to start pimping my ride. For the first lot I've got $5000 to spend but am trying to stretch it as far as I can. Ok. I have a 1992 Vitara and recently had the Bearing replace on the passenger side. After a short while it became loose but i've checked and the bearing adjustment ring is as tight as it will go.

I've pulled it apart and think my axel might have stretched.

Is this likely and Possible and what ...

Hey guys, was there anything else you needed to do with the body lift other then the leavers?

I have 1" and am thinking of going the 2" kit but not 100% on whats involved.

Those tyres will fit on without any offset but if going for new rims I wouldnt go over -15mm. Thats what I have running 30" x 9.5" and they were slightly to much. I'd think -13mm would probally be ideal for 30s but something like -7mm for your tyres would be good to go easier on your bearings and ...

I've been looking at this too. I replaced my passenger one and they both have slight wobble. I was told that my hubs have probally streched and need replacing. Does this sound correnct and if so if it really dangerous?

Tat way you make sure the second lot of oil isn't contaminated. The way I was told is that the Water chemicaly changes the oil which is what will do damage

I was going to build one on my Tara but just forked out for the Safari and am lad i did as it compliments the whole look of the car.

You should be able to pick up a ram head cheap as some of the 4x4 shops over here throw them out when they do the mining cars with the big pre filters.

Hi all, I was just wondering how involved changing the water pump on my EFI vitara engine will be. The mechanics said the timing belt will need to come off which looks like it might and I was wondering if I'll need a puller or anything else special.

Their meant to be crap the stock Vitara V6s. I kept getting told to steer clear of them. Apparently there is bugger all power in them and they just drink more fuel and don't like revving.

Ah ok, i had 2 more behind the drivers seat but mine's a long wheel base 5 door.

I've been doing some research though and people seem to be breaking belts with them. My vit had a grooved belt so is it likely to break them?

I've done a 30mm on my LWB and didn't even bother with 4x50mm ones. just the 8x80mm ones which are bolted on.

I didn't have any trouble with the floor pan but i have just put the other 4 spacers in for peace of mind.

Just make sure that the bolt on spacers are 80mm in diameter like the stock ones ...

oh bugger, I'll sort one out tomorrow. Was it a Ford EL one i should be putting in as an upgrade form the stock suzi one then?

Tyson: Another consideration is that 30"s won't go on standard 5.5"rims.

Legaly the 235s aren't meant to either but they go fine if you can get someone to fit them.
